I was there too and have changed my tune about the costume. It is fine in person, you don't lose his legs. Boy looked off before even doing the 4L.. different from how he looked in practice. But he really sold it better, very expressive in his facial expressions. I find in person he has a way of looking up from under his lashes... kind of like Princess Diana in her earlier years... I was quite startled to notice the similarity. This is a great program and will be awesome, eventually.

Princess Dinana:laugh2: I know what you mean. When I saw that look at the start of the program, I said to myself that it doesn't matter he jumps or not, I would enjoy seeing him skating around. I never expected him to mess up 2 jumps though :rolleye: Nevertheless I enjoyed watching his program, becuase second half was reallly good.

Super long day starting with practices at 9 am and competition ending at around 10:30 pm. Have to say this SP is already growing on me, and in spite of a few jump difficulties, it still looked good. I think he'll come back fighting tomorrow. Still don't like white costumes (on anyone), but I have to admit the detail on that jacket is gorgeous.

Tracy sounded so supportive of him  she talked about how he is pushing himself and the sport, even after that rough skate.

I feel really sad and worried about him. I keep hugging Pooh because there's nothing i would like more than give him a big hug :( I know i have to believe in him but his face after he finished broke my heart. I hope that he can have a good FS, i don't want perfection, i just don't wanna see that expression on his face :(

I spotted the similarity the previous season. Thought I was crazy. So you see that too.:agree:

I think it will be very hard to get trough fs. It looked like it was really warm in the arena during SP, and he is not doing well stamina wise in such conditions

What happened was regretful, but considering the results and what happened, Yuzu's situation could have been worse. Few points between 4th and 2nd. He can definitely catch up tomorrow and have a podium finish, or even win (but Chan will need to make mistakes). It's like last year, and he was 6th after SP.
Of course, it would have been better if he was clean, but he's human and "ice is slippery" ;)
Let's trust him to deliver for his FP. :cheer:

Since my internet mysteriously disappeared on me right after Yuzuru's score was announced, didn't get to watch the rest yet but aww... he fell to fourth place. :hslap: Better than last year I guess...

Good luck and cheers for the LP!!! :) :cheer:

Just came back from a maskerade ball. Sadly I missed the men's sp. Sad about Hanyu's skate I don't know if I can bear to watch it. On the bright side there's always a chance for redemption in the fs.

Well, what happened last season after he messed up skate canada and lost to Patrick?

I try to ignore the jumps. I liked the SP much more than at autumn classic. Loved the energy.
Good luck for the FS, I can't wait to see that beautiful program again!

it's amazing that his pattern is every year the same, he looks in practice to be totally ready, and yet in competition he still bombs in first event :laugh2:

Hopefully he will be able to put it together somehow in fs, I am less conerned about it than about SP, we will see. Stamina will be crucial

Besides the 4lo and missed combo it isn't that bad and not that disastrous. imo, he still performed better here than in ACI (his movements were better) :)

About his hairs, he fixed them with hair gel to express the cool image of the music specifically. As for the second jump, he was not rattled and could switch his mind after the failure of the first jump, but he was too concious about something technical.

---
i dont know if his hair style worked well as he had expected, but it was a remarkable change.

This hair is fantastic. For the love of everything holy, please keep it, Yuzuru.

Hm I wonder what this means.

Provably he intends that the seond failure was not due to the mentality (you know he oftern falls in negative chain with his jums). He was thinking too much about technics towards the jump.
