Pogorilaya, Sotskova and Yuzuru from Pogo's instagram at the banquet

ETA : Is Yuzuru really still only 171 now? Sotskova is 170 cm and is wearing heels (?) but Yuzuru still look taller than her (forever riddle of Yuzuru's current real height)

Yuzu hasn't update his ISU height/weight information for ages. He was already 171 before Olympics, and looking at his photo next to Patrick Chan since than, I say he grow at least to 173-174 now. I remember there was a interview a while back that he said he thinks he is taller but did not have the time to measure his height. I also had the opportunity to stand next to him and talk to him during Worlds 2016~ I volunteered at the event. I'm 171, he's at least a inch taller than me.

What's with russian lady skaters and their love for Yuzuru? I swear more than half of the russian team is a Yuzuru fan. (Evgenia, Yulia, Liza Tukt, Serafima, probably Sotskova etc) :coffee: Is Yuzuru particularly popular with russian ladies in general or is it the age range?

Hmmm, I guess Yuzuru attracts women - and it's just a coincidence that the turnover of elite Russian girls is huge. :) So every top girl has her chance of a Yuzu selfie.

Was watching this interview and skipping some parts because I understand zero and Satoko was the cutest at this moment towards Yuzuru! Satoko and Yuzuru interactions never fail to make me smile   Can someone tell me what she said about his FP?

This link doesn't work for me. Is there another one?

I think it was this. Although I didn't manage to see it at Nam's instagram.

The amount of pretty in that photo is unbelievable. (off topic: Anna Pogorilaya is the most beautiful skater ever, and given the number of gorgeous skaters, that's saying something! )

I just watched the Gala with my mom and you should hear how much she loves that EX. She's definitely one of those fans who consider Yuzuru androgynous, but she loves it because (her words) he gives her artistic impressions no other skater can. I guess, that's mission accomplished on Yuzuru's part!

I think you are right. Keiji and Ryuju are both 173cm by their bio (I hope it is current data). In the recent photo, they looked almost the same height. Or, Yuzuru might be a bit higher ??

Thank you! As for the Satoko link, I'm dying. :dbana: Lethal levels of adorable.

remember guys that from next season, the maximum FS time is also reduced, so no time for all this.

Do we have this? It's a half hour long thing from NHK

Right! It's five quads there, not four. I was just staring at it and trying to figure out what was wrong and why the BV was so high. I'm too tired :palmf: Yeah five seems unlikely, four it is. But he could eliminate the 4T this way totally by shifting the 4S to the end for the fourth and then re-arranging the rest.

Or you know, go for the actual five like Sano Minoru said a while back ...

Yuzuru's comment about peaking from @Iron_Klaus twitter. source : (sports docomo)

When should I peak? I think it's alright if I peak at the GPF. I've discussed this with Brian as well. Maybe we don't have to change the timing, so long as my average score is higher. I would like to be able to win no matter how far I am from my peak condition or how nervous I am. I also want to be connected to my audience. I want to enjoy my skating. This is my ultimate objective now. I haven't set any limits on myself, and I will just keep trying to attain certain objectives every season. Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes this happen slowly, but I'd like to keep moving forward step by step.

Sounds like his is in a good mental space. And honestly he has achieved everything already. He owes this to himself. But I hope he peaks at worlds just for my own personal live enjoyment :P.

Hahah, yeah. I think this just means that he has a backup plan and something else in mind if he doesn't manage to shift his peaking time, not that he "intends" to peak at GPF. Shifting peaking time is a tricky thing and I don't think there is a sure way to know if your method in adjusting your peak will work. But at the same time I also think it is not like it's not doable. Yuna Kim has similar problems in her early senior years, she peaked at her 2nd GP + GPF then she injured herself by worlds and lost. However, somehow she and Brian manage to change it a bit during 2008-2009, and she could peak at worlds and finally win. I meant, well, he needs to tell himself that if this year he ends up peaking at GPF again it is not the end of the world, right?

Compilation of many many reports about Yuzuru in NHK trophy from Japanese TV shows.

Is Nanami Abe choreographing the gala? It looks like her in the 15:00 min but I might be wrong.

I thought she was there, too, when I saw the woman Yuzuru was talking to after leaving the ice and heading backstage. He thanked her, laughed a lot, talked to her about his single axel. I thought it must be Nanami based on how she looked. Not clear tho.

Yes, I saw that in the gala finale video too. After the gala was finished and they exited the ice, Yuzu talked to the female choreographer (there are 2, male and female, from Elizabet's photos. But their face was not clear there. Or the guy was from TV station hahah I have no clue). He talked to her for a while and he giggled and laughed and then he thanked her (and him) before he exit backstage. The camera did not show the female choreographer's face from the gala finale video, but from the videos I just posted, you can see her face at 14:59 and she does look like Nanami Abe.
