Yup. It's more of a fun event with little stress... although you know he'll want to perform well at home. I'm still hoping for a clean LGC and maybe a WR if it's really good. If he's not keeping it I'd love to see it retired done to its potential. In the short medal interview he said he didn't know yet if he'd keep it or not since he had wanted to do it clean, but I think he will want to do something new for the Olympics. Performing it clean would allow him to retire it without regrets.

I am really looking forward to the competition too. A treat to end the season with no nail biting.

I don't think I remember what it's like to watch figure skating live without extreme nail biting  So this will be a change...

I realized that it's going to be such a treat to be able to watch LGC and H&L without worrying about a title :luv17: I know he might not want to go to WTT but i think it's the best way for us to end the season: A final performance, stress free (ish. I still want him to be the best and i would LOVE if he broke the SP record there)...
I'm really looking forward to WTT!

Majority of us will not worry and will care less about the result; but I think Yuzuru will take it seriously. They will have everyone from the top 6 sans Javi there, and as you can hear from his conversation with Patrick, he thought it will be "high-level"

ITA with you. It's the Olympic season so I hope he does some of the tour, but not all of it if they add more dates. Knowing what we know about him, he might want to do all of it because he missed the entire thing last year and would not want to disappoint people. But, I hope he realizes he is better off at TCC this summer, preparing under their guidance for the most important season ever. Staying there worked this time even after all the issues he had. There is a lot of time to make it up to the Japanese public next summer after the Olympics. He can do whatever he wants then. This is the summer to be careful and work hard and not get tired from shows.

Come to think if, it I think chances of adding more dates would be slim. It would only be in 3 months, I don't think it is easy finding venue. They usually hire Dwilson/Borser for one of the stops and Buttle for one of the other, let us just hope it's like that again so that at least there will be watchful eyes among those stops  Yes, I also think like you, that spending more time in CC did do wonders for him, never seen him in this great of a shape before. :luv17:

the last thing the new world champion will want is to make mistakes in front of an audience... especially after his lovely gala exploits and resulting embarrassment.:laugh2: I think that 3A will be beat down at WTT.

I'm sure of that too, but i will be able to watch it without much stress because whatever happens, he already is the world champion :P
The CoD was defeated, we had a clean H&L... that happiness will bring down my stress level :)

I'm sure he now wants severely to have "revenge" on LGC. After all, he mentions his short program in every other sentence in every single interview after he won. Not to mention his gala 3As. And it's home ground. So, pressure as usual for him  But I think he may mess with HL layout just for the challenge and prep for next season's layout. :confused2:

4Lz 4Lo 3F /// 4S3T 4T 3A3T 3Allo3S 3Lz :p 6 pts higher in base value

I just checked the CBC broadcast schedule and we are going to have livestreaming for the entire WTT event!! Yes!! But since it's in Japan, I'll be up waaaay early in the morning for that... man. I"m sleep deprived as it is...

Y'all, it's not blocked. :dance3: was it already posted here? was is unblocked only now? I don't know, I'm a snail for only noticing now

Our lord and saviour H&L fancam reached 600.000 :hap93:

Enrique Coma's is almost at 400.000.

If Fuji TV didn't block it, the videos would have broken Youtube, if they didn't already. k :party2:

Lol.....1 million views with just fancams :eeking: FujiTV...sigh.

Or get rid of 3Lz for 4S?

But then he can't do 2 3T. The BV increase won't be so much to be honest but the risk would be much higher. If he wants to do 5 quads with only 4 type of quads the best way to maximize point is learning a -3Lo combo. A layout like this would beat anybody even with a 6 quad layout : 4Lz 4Lo 4S /// 4S3T 4T 3Lz3Lo 3Alo3F 3A :p

I'm back home too, and ready to read all the 200+ pages and watch all the available videos and read all the interviews in the next coming days.

My review of the last few days will be a bit long, but I hope you don't mind it...

I feel incredibly happy and grateful that I had the opportunity to watch Yuzuru skate and win his second World Championships title. If I could express my feelings in just a couple of words then I would describe it as the biggest rollercoaster of emotions I have ever experienced in my life.
Thursday was the longest day, when I went to the OP in the morning and stayed until the end of pair's free skate. I uploaded a run through of the practice so if anyone is interested you can find it here (without sound, unfortunately. I uploaded it on dailymotion too but after a notification it got deleted after an half an hour....).. Some pictures are here (not too good quality but that's what I could do the best): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Yuzuru's short program was amazing live, and despite of the mistake, I think he performed it the best there, I really had the feeling he gave 100% into it. At the same time I was shocked by the score and more than so, by the fact that many of his main rivals skated perfect programs, but he couldn't. First I didn't really see what happened with the combo as I was sitting behind the board, and I couldn't see if he touched down one, of both of his knees. It was heartbreaking to see him that disappointed in the k&c and I felt so frustrated that during Javi's perfect SP I couldn't hold my tears back and started to cry a lot. It took me time to calm down, then later I saw Yuzuru walking down in the media centre with the saddest and most disappointed expression on his face, and I thought that nothing is worse than seeing him in a way like this...

But after this, I realised that the only solution is to look forward and cheer him with all the remaining energies. What happened, happened and we couldn't do anything about it. Sleep deprivation started to kick in and another exciting day with the ladies free and ice dance sd were ahead of us, so I tried to distract my thoughts with that. Friday was a long day, too, and after the ladies medal ceremony I had the chance to stay in the arena for a bit more. The whole arena became empty, the main lights were turned off (pic here), and when I looked at the rink I felt there was calmness and the atmosphere was magical. I knew that this is the perfect time to think of Yuzuru and say a little prayer for him. I looked at the rink, closed my eyes and wished that he would skate a beautiful long program and that he would be satisfied with his performance the next day.

Next day I woke up surprisingly fresh and I thought that it's very good because the more energies I have the more I can cheer for him. Some of us from GS met after the SP, it was very nice to meet all of you! Three of us then watched the LP together, and it was the best possible way to cheer for him (well I don''t think I'd have survived it with my Javier fan friend who stayed at the balcony level...#sorry).

The arena was became full for the last group, it was the most anticipated event of this competition, the excitement was electrifying.
And Yuzu was the first to skate...
4Lo done, 4S also done...and I won't forget the feeling when he landed the 4S-3T in front of us and the whole arena just blew up after that  After he landed the 4T, I knew he would do it and it would finish the program perfectly.
And he did.
I don't know what exactly happened after, I just saw his happy and very emotional reaction in the k&c and it was everything I wanted to see.

The emotions were so intense that it was very hard to held my breath back for the rest of the competition. But I had to, especially during Shoma's program because it was a very strong one. During Javi's skate I thought it was too hard for him to handle that pressure - he was the defending champion and skated last, plus he struggled a lot with this FP at the last three competitions.

And finally, none of them could beat him (not even Shoma) and Yuzuru won the gold which he deserved so incredibly.

I don't think I have ever seen such a comeback by any skater I have seen from the past decades. And I'm sure Yuzuru would have got even higher scores, if he had skated 5th or 6th. Judges tried to hold him down, because they didn't know how the others would perform, and also, I think they wanted to save some extra points for Javier (also for Shoma).. But Yuzuru skated so sensationally that they didn't have any other chance but to give him a new WR.

And it was the most perfect, beautiful ending of this incredible competition. It was really a once-in-a-life experience for me and I will cherish every moment of it from now on. His cheerful and happy face at the medal ceremony was the coronation of that perfect competition.

Yuzuru once again proved that he is mentally unbeatable when he is on and perfectly focused. No one can touch him when he is dangerous and delivers such an exquisite performance like Hope & Legacy at this World Championships.

Congratulations once again to him, and I hope this victory gives him even more motivation and strength for the next season. My only wish is that he stays healthy, and rest will come ;)

p.s. he is beautiful on pictures and videos but his beauty in real life can be multiplied by ten...

Any reason he refuses to do -3Lo?

I hope Yuzuru is named the captain of Team Japan for the first time at WTT. He is after all already de facto leader of Team Japan methinks. And as I posted before, I want to see improvements in his cheerleading from last WTT. TJ after all has a great tradition of cheerleading from the days of Daisuke, Akiko, etc.

Judging by Yuzuru's comments to Patrick at Worlds, I think Yuzuru will not want Shoma to do better than him and in front of their home crowd, so WTT may not be an entirely fluff event for him.

And a big, big thank you to all those who shared (and will be sharing) their pictures, videos, and first-hand accounts of Yuzuru at Worlds 2017. Finally, he showed his best at Worlds. What a magical moment, and may he continue to give us many, many more!

It is not as easy as it looks. Difficult to get full rotation. If not, all the men with many quads would have done that to maximize BV. They probably thought it is more worth it to spend the time for training a different type of quad rather than training a 3Lo combo. But Yuzuru and 4F is just... lol. So to maximize BV he can do a 3Lo combo. I have seen video where he landed 3Lz2Lo, it was beautiful. But have yet to see him attempt a 3Lz3Lo combo. 3Lo combo is not really pretty if the 3Lo does not travel a bit far, in my opinion, and GOE wise it would be a hinder too. I think his -3T3Lo combo that I have seen, most if not all of the 3Lo were UR :p

It's a matter of pride for him  They usually choose the oldest member of TJ as the caption so I guess it'll be Yuzu this time :roll9:

Since WTT is counted towards ISU PB's, I'll be anxious about it as well....I want Yuzu to keep his WR's but since its in Japan, I'm sure they'll be throwing out candies for some :roll5:

Ahh. Alina Zagitova makes it look so easy :p But his loop is beautiful (I think loop is my favorite jump now because of him...other than axel, but only his ) so I have no doubt his -3Lo would be too.
