I wish they would just leak all their unedited footage from that practice. I've been replaying the videos all day :drama:

Welcome to the thread, fellow country(wo?)man and fellow Hanyu fan, I don't think I've seen you round here before. *waves*
Meh, our official TV offered some very, very bland commentary on Hanyu's skating. I'm glad I tried the Eurosport guys as well; they didn't disappoint and were fanboying full force. :D Too bad I couldn't record it. "We've never - never - ever seen anything like that!" was one of my favorite summaries of Hope and Legacy. :p

Woman^^ Sorry for the late reply - I was away for the whole Easter holidays. And you haven't - I never really an urge to register here so I just lurked around stalking some threads ~

Right now I have started trying to catch up with this thread xD

So much this! I'm both blessed and impressed that he skates to what he loves (demonstrating incredible versatility and range at that) despite all the haters whom I'm sure have popped up in numbers over the years. (Not calling your mom a hater, but you bet there are people who would say this stuff to his face:roll5:) I'm impressed and also incredibly blessed to be able to see what he creates, which is absolutely mind-blowingly beautiful.

And to all those people (not on Golden Skate usually, thank god) who want to comment on his sexuality/gender, I'm not sure how wearing lace and sparkles changes your genitalia :confused2::confused::scratch3: As far as I'm concerned, Yuzu looks and acts like a man because he is one.

People think that there is only 1 way to be and it's just not how it is. Yuzu is never going to have the same kind of masculinity as Javi but it doesn't make his mascunity incorrect or non-existant. Everyone should be free to express themselves however they please.
I like Yuzu's sparkles and stuff. His good costumes pair up with his programs and skating really well to make him really seem like this other-worldly being on the ice. I don't think his programs would have the same distinct flavour if he had the same kind of packaging as everyone else. The flowy fabics and the sparkles and the colours and his tendancy to look like a watercolour painting helps make the performances seem like a special moment. Can you imagine h+l with an outfit like Patrick's? It wouldn't work at all.

Anyway. I'm looking forward to WTT! I'm happy because the schedule means I can watch every event ^^ hooray for Japan having the same time-zone!

:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:
I'm sorry but that's just :laugh2:

i agree with you though. I love the ruffles, gradients, flowy fabrics and the million sparkles. He is pure light so the only way to make that physically evident is to cover himself in sparkles :)

Challenge accepted.

Maybe I won't finish by autumn, but possibly next year (by then the amount of pages will hit at least 8000 ) It really depends on how much time I'll have. I read 15 pages today which is not too much...

Just as I got pumped up to take on this challenge I could not keep up with this thread for the whole Easteer holiday >< Well Challenge would be to do so by the time Olympics come^^ Well I will just use my procrastination time during "test month" after the semester ends xD

Just give up and join the flow wherever it takes you. :) That's the only way to survive here! :p

But.... but.... so many missed photos... >< xD

Well I'll see if I'll survive^^

Another version of the practice for WTT video, great quality (not my upload) https://twitter.com/yuzu_pino/status/854268952884649984 Start at 0:30 to see his absolutely beautiful and fast step sequence :points: (great jumps as well in the video)

Our beloved 4S3T and 3A from yesterday's practice broadcasted this morning in Japan.
The dailymotion version from YZriko --> here

Wow :luv17: He looks fresh as a daisy. Everything is quality. Beautiful jumps. Beautiful knees. Beautiful arms. His alignment when he lands his jumps is so good. And I will never get tired of that Besti squat.

And as it has not yet been mentioned, I will say it. You can really tell in the second clip that Ajinomoto also buffed up his pectorals. Credit where credit is due. :points:

I feel you. I'm trying my best to catch up too. But even with checking in on the thread every evening, it's proving to be very difficult  Not to mention if you miss even just a few days of reading the thread

I get quite a lot of reading stuff every morning - and I don't go to bed early. :)

And it's going to get worse because of the incoming landslide of pics, videos and news from WTT...

I read every morning before work and then when I return from work. Usually that is enough... and now in the evening because WTT is upon us and we will get more news.

He does look pretty fresh. Confidence from world's, some down time with the fam, and the fact that this this is the last and least stressful comp of the season are big contributing factors, I think. May the form in practices translate into a clean LGC!!! Oh, pretty please!

Ditto on the not going to bed early part, although I try to do this only occasionally. Afraid I might be a zombie the next day at work otherwise lol. But I remember a while back when I missed several days of the thread, and tried to catch up... I slept at 4:30am, and I still wasn't finished backreading! Lol!

Keep survive! You can't missed those photos, videos, translations, etc..

I love that he doesn't try to conform to any gender stereotype and just interprets and lets his emotions flow without barriers :)
I have to admit that at first i did feel like he was a bit feminine looking until i started digging a bit more: He does act like a man anyways, and i think that most of those people who bring up the gender/sexuality topic do it because of prejudices towards the sport, not necessarily Yuzu himself.
To me, it doesn't matter at all, what matters is that he gives incredible performances :D and i admire people who are able to convey their emotions with such intensity and honesty :luv17: in his case is even more admirable because he does so while executing technically impressive feats :D
In my opinion, everything else shouldn't be questioned because it's completely irrelevant to what he does :luv17:

I 'love' how ppl always say fs is a "feminine" sport....puh-lease, just ask any of the athletes of "manlier" sports to do what skaters are doing: dance on freaking thin pieces of sharp blades on wet cold slippery ice at top speed for around 4 minutes and reaching exercise levels that rival elite athletes for 800m track and field. Heck, skaters prolly lactate as much as long-distance runners after a long run. And rotating /beautifully/ four times in the air /multiple/ times while hving their feet bear up to 4 times of body weight each time they jump and around 8-14 times their body weight each time they land it. (Don't forget the falls too!) Plus, these are landed one-legged, backwards (except axel) and on a thin slice of metal. The wear and tear of skaters is tremendous. And using various laws of physics to control their spins and transitions, while still connecting emotionally to their programme and their audience and interpreting it well. And all these ideally should all occur together in that 4mins approx.

People who can't do it but complain about how it's feminine...they should just shut their mouth.
