Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

Yesterday I thought, I'm collapsing after Aljona's and Bruno's victory. Same today after THAT short. Hope it won't happen in the math exam coming up in two hours :palmf: I have to survive another 20 hours (at least) to see Seimei again :yahoo:

Popping in to say congrats to Yuzuru! More than being #1 after the SP, I think this is a celebration of the fact that he conquered his injury. Tomorrow is going to be a tight race but I trust that he would be fine, especially after noticing that he's a lot more relaxed now compared to the other competitions these past 4 years. He isn't as tensed and I think that really helped him today.

Although I must say I'm disappointed that after such a wonderful performance, South Korea is attacking him over Kimigayo. I don't know if he commented about it in one of his interviews today (I haven't seen any clear English translation of this issue) or what but I first saw it trending on Twitter. While I understand their history and where they're coming from, I don't think it's right to bash his personality or wish for him to lose just so that it wouldn't be played in the arena. I mean, this is the Olympics. If they are that concerned about it, shouldn't they have questioned their Olympic committe beforehand about what they'll do if a Japanese won? I dunno, I've been dreading this scenario for years and now it's happening. I just hope Yuzuru never hears of this mess before the FP.

ANYWAY, good luck tomorrow yuzu!!!! Will continue sending good vibes through my phone's screen :yahoo:

Lol. Kimagayo played in this exact same arena one year ago for Mai Mihara. The resulting riots were remarkably restrained.

Yuzuru! Where to begin!

I'm so happy that the calm and poise and happiness he was showing off ice has translated into this incredible performance. Whatever happens in the FS, thank you for gifting us such beauty and poetry!
I'm also happy that he seems to have gotten a lot wiser and that he's enjoying himself so much at these OG.

Okaeri Yuzu! Welcome back!

That was breathtaking! As much as I love some of the other skaters, there's no one who leaves an impact quite like Yuzu does. I'm so glad that he performed so well in the SP, but I'm even more ecstatic by how happy and healthy he looks! I hope he performs Seimei to the best of his capabilities tomorrow:hap10:.

Brian's words to Yuzu right before he skated:

B: "You know what to do. Yeah? From here [points at head] and from here [points at heart]. You're in charge"

...and after the skate:

B: "I'm so proud of you. So proud. Amazing!"
Y: "I'm back"

K&C

BG: "Woah! So good!"
B: "Good job"
BG: "Woooooooo"
BG: "Welcome back!"
B: "Good start! Yeah?"
Y: "Yeah!"

Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-18 Season

This maybe shouldn’t be here but just a thought, I think Brian has proved to everyone and himself that he is WAY beyond a competent skating coach. I mean coaching Yuna and Yuzu to win so many titles and so flexible as well, female and male students. But I just want to ask why did Yuna want to leave Brian and what did Orser do to Yuna?
Yuzu has everything, he capitivates everyone and I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. No one can do this right now, not Kolyada not Aliev and not Chen, no one.

Yuzu has technical content and such beautiful lines and choreography. Just sublime.
I can’t wait until tomorrow:))
