This was a big competition for Vincent to medal in if the USFS is going to go by the whole season he just showed he can compete with the big boys and get on the podium even with some mistakes. If he goes clean or nearly clean at Nationals he's going to South Korea he just has to much potential to leave off the team.
I say good for him for the comeback and winning the FS (and medaling), but he was sixth in the SP behind a bunch of people who he should have beat easily (which he did today).
His total score is actually fourth among the US men at the moment. And yes early days, but that's the case for everyone.
