Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I wonder whether yuzu had POTO costume done in Japan.

That's what I was thinking too, and he must have tested it out while in Japan the last time. If Borser wanted to be secretive he could have just said, "wait and see" and winked. Maybe he really hasn't seen it.

I think what he means is he will win at CoC (like Machida did at SA), but there will not be any "game" between them as Yuzu will continue to win and defeat all opponents, including Machida. ;)

Oh, I think you are right :agree:

I know Borser did play a role when picking costumes for Javi and Nam, but not sure about Yuzu's; but at least he might take a look at the design? Or he was just completely off the whole costume thing.

It's just a roughly/bad translation...I tried my best...please forgive me if I make any mistake...:slink:
Q:Do you have any change before/after winning OGM?
Yuzu:I don't feel much different. Though being a champion, I have to keep winning and it does give me a lot of pressure. However, figure skating is what I really love and I do it out of fondness. This feeling never change.
Q:How others look at you before/after winning OGM? is there any differenceYuzu: The level of expectation from others is totally different. But, because of the huge expectation, I have the motivation to keep going. To be honest, I feel I have changed a lot this year. I don't want to be too conservative to progress so I will try my best to do whatever I can do .(put 3 quads in FS). There is big evolution of jumping arrangement of FP/SP in this season, which may give everyone a shock. But I will work hard to have everyone feel my revolution.
Q:What is "Yuzuru Hanyu" look like in your daily life? e.g. when do you wake up and when do you sleep?
Yuzu: It is hard to say...but since the training time in Toronto is not so early, normally around noon or afternoon, I usually sleep right before the training time. On the contrary, I will stay up late at night.
Q:What do you do at night?
Yuzu:I will do image training before my sleep. I will do it mainly in my head but sometimes I will actually move my body.
I stay in Toronto with my mother and she often scolds me, saying "you are too noisy"
Q: Scold you?
Yuzu: because I am really noisy (haha). For example, when I do my image training with real movements, I sometimes hits the walls and make loud noise, shouting " Ouch!"
And then my mother rushes into my room and ask me "what on earth are you doing now!?"
Q:You are earphone fan?
Yuzu:Indeed, I am more like a earphone-holic than earphone fan.
I have around 50 earphones and each of them has different function, such as for sports,listening,video...
Q: What music do you listen while in Sochi?
Yuzu: I listened the songs from "sketchbook", e.g. the song "Way". I listened to the song because I think it suited what I feel at that time, which motivated me.
Q: What is your ambition of this season?
Yuzu: Meeting the new season with big three title, to what extent I can do has lot to do with my future skating life.

Thank you!! Now I understand the "image training part." Lol that he's hitting the walls and mom comes running!

Seems some of Chinese fans have already seen yuzu skating POTO in today's practice......wait for detailed report....

Thank you chestnut:clap:

Today after the flight landed, I realized I really couldn't concentrate on my work at all, but instead I was concentrating on SNS updates. Need to learn how to concentrate for 2 MORE DAYS!!

Same! Completely the same as you!! I honestly can't concentrate on university studies this week because I can't stop thinking of the competition! And I'll be waking up at 3:30 AM PDT to watch the Men's Short Program live ... ;) I guess this is what being a figure skating fan truly is like.

Yuzu practiced in a skating club in Shanghai. He was crowded with many little girl skaters. One of them took some clips of his skating in rink and photos.

ps. As the video and photos are posted in Chines Weibo, someone might be blocked to browse.

No more signing(?)
Thank you for the videos!

I see he's doing an illusion entrance into his first spin, and it looks pretty good! Compared to how a lot of others do it  I also see changes in the step sequence, and I'm kind of glad/not surprised that he ended up ditching the walley before his 3Lz+3T. Honestly, he does need his time to get into proper position for his Lz otherwise he tends to pop it, although I'm sad to see it go because I did really like it. I'm disappointed with the final spin (the butt position! and the foot over the head! oh no), but I'll reserve full judgement for Friday! I'm really excited

EDIT: hearing the kids gasp over his 3A and his quad is so cute, haha

Unfortunately, Yuzu didn't make any jump or spin in the FS practice...(according to the weibo report)
So, it still unknown...
I think we have to wait until OP tomorrow to see the FS.

How are they getting in? I was told there were no open practices to COC?!? Flying there on Friday and would love to attend practices...

The recorder is someone who practiced at the rink, who is not a kid but a university student, sportswoman and big fan of Yuzu. When she was practicing earlier today, BOrser, Nam and Yuzu were standing by the rink watching. YUZU did say hello and thank you to her! Heard that there would be no open practices, but I'll report if there is good news.

Why are Yuzu and the rest practice in smaller rink and the others (chinese skaters?) practice in competition rink?
This practice was not official - COC pratices at Oriental Sports Centre start only from Thursday. Probably, those who arrived earlier have to use other rinks available, while Chinese athlets are free to use their home rink.

Exactly, the rink was closed for Team BOrser from noon, but it seemed they arrived early, so the other local skaters were still practicing there. After 1400 the rink went to Team USA.
BTW, I remember the girl who took the videos used to be training together with Misha Ge. I think her old friend will be very glad to know that Yuzu has got recovered now:)

video magically started to work for me

He is looking very fluid and dynamic in moves. Quad easily from steps in 2nd half of SP, just poped Lutz, steps look great, and his illusion entrance to spin looks also great

I was only quickly scanning through the reports of those who skated with Team Cricket, and I think one person said that Hanyu-kun said no to taking photo together. I am happy that he knows to draw boundaries even in a foreign country!

Japanese media loves to stir up a little rivalry; of course they would want to get a quote from him along the lines of "I'll hit the ball right back...", but good job with the answer! It was just like when after OG they kept saying he is the new ace, and he said he has no desire to be the ace. Very very high EQ for this young man.
