Brian Joubert

I listened again when Pietra talked about an artist. She said: “What I like about you, you have a duality. There is a lot of fragility and a lot of strength. And these are the two characteristics we must find with an artist”

Before the semi-finals, there was a chat with the 4 contestants. Brian’s favorite dances are the tango and the paso doble, he likes the intention of the dance. He knew two professional dancers (Fauve & Maxime) before DALS because they have participated together in the French tv show “ Fort Boyard“
He thinks to work later with Katrina. Perharps with the French team. She learned him to share moré with the others. He was surprised to be in semi finals. He thought to leave the show after 6 or 7 weeks.

There’s a new interview since the semi-final, I will try to translate it today but I can't promise

How did he do in the final?

the final is Saturday. Usually, they say what will be the dances on Tuesdays but yesterday, there was nothing.

Like Nathalie, he thinks the last week is the hardest week (they will have 4 dances to prepare). He’s always surprised to be in final, he doubted every week to leave the show because he’s discreet. He had trouble with cameras. He can show a different image of him, and not only the image of a serious man. When he was skater, he thinks he had the image of someone who wasn’t funny and happy
His work, it’s always skating. He thinks to dance will help him in the interpretation. Katrina is a friend for him. He hopes it will be for life. Winning the final is not essential, he wants to offer a good show. He’s not surprised to see Rayane in final, Rayane works a lot. Brian thinks Rayane will win the show.

Interview video on the website of Tf1
His favorite dance was the tango because he feels “the best” on this dance. He was in the self-control but with DALS, he shows hlmself. He remembers in first that DALS is a human adventure. He has evolved into a world of stress, where he was always alone. He feels good to be open to others

News about the final:
Brian will dance with the others contestants a « megamix » (Charleston, waltz, jive). There will have a rumba with Katrina. We don’t know anything else. They worked until 4 am Thursday in order to do the recorded part. All the contestants say they’re tired because they must prepare 4 dances.

It's not good for Brian. He's third for the moment and like Nathalie is first, he must be first with the public and it seems impossible. He will dance the second dance now, a jive. It's not his best dance. He dances it before (5 !) and was bad. So...

Edit : after the 3 dances, Brian is third. There will have the results soon

Edit 2 : Brian is third. I'm frustrated because I think Nathalie is last with the votes of the public but with this complicated notation, it's Nathalie who is in the last 2...

Thank you for the update. I still think it's a huge accomplishment for him. To get into final.

Not about Brian but Nathalie is second, 52/48 against Rayane. Brian has deserved his third place because he was the worst today but like I say, I don't know what to think about Nathalie. If they had let the people to choose, I'm not sure she would be in final

I haven't watched Nathalie or Rayane's dances, so I don't have an opinion about them. But Brian did great just by making the finale. We weren't deprived of him at all this way. ;)

I also saw on Twitter that Brian was confirmed as a participant in Stephane Lambiel's Ice Legends show in Geneva on Dec. 18. So I'm guessing he must go to Russia very soon (probably Monday) for the Snow King, then fly right to Switzerland when it's all over. He's certainly keeping busy.

In an article today about Brian and Nathalie, the journalist say Brian will go in Russia tomorrow, sunday.

No wonder he gets along well with Plushy then - neither seems to favour sitting around twiddling their thumbs. :)

But congrats to Brian for making the final in the first place - I haven't seen anyone else's dances either; but I think he did well - good job!

Looking forward to seeing his last dances - but, I saw a photo of him shirtless, so that should certainly please you, gallavich. ;)

The Megamix (before, he was second. It's here that he lose his chances)

The jive

Thank you!

The rumba - I don't generally like rumbas, but I thought that was quite okay. (I don't know what that says about it, though... ;))

The megamix - I can understand that, actually. He did look a bit awkward and heavyfooted there on occasion.

I think maybe that all those dances were too many for him to absorb - but, no matter, I think he's done very well over all during this series, and can be pleased with his efforts. :)

:o: I do appreciate his fan service!

It seems like he had a good time on the show, and I think I read he will be part of a DALS tour, so hopefully we may get more Dancing Babou videos in the future. ;)

The judges loved the rumba. The only complaint : he bent the legs.

The megamix : I'm agree with you. Brian is good for the standard dances but for the charleston and the jive, we saw him "heavy". So the choice of a jive for the final surprised me. I don't think it was Katrina's idea (I hope)

It's was funny to see the beginning of the contestants. Brian has really changed his attitude. It seems more comfortable with people.

yesterday, emotional moment when he cried. He saw a message from his father who said he was proud of his son

Oh! That is so lovely and moving - it would make this whole thing worth it all on its own, I'd imagine.... I'm so glad. :)

@gallavich - I didn't get to see him in a suit, though.... (sigh)

 oh Brian!!! Finally his dad told him he's proud of him. OMG I cried for him. Brian you can be proud of yourself!!

I’ve found the final in video, so I have cut the moment with Brian’s father and the celebrities who supported Brian.

The celebrities are :
- Denis Brogniart, who is the presenter of “Koh lanta”, the French version of “Survivor”. Brian said he would like to do this tv reality.
- Luc Arbogast. Brian skated on his song 2 years ago. It was before Luc was known in France and not only in Poitiers’ area. Luc is now known because he has participated to "the voice" on tf1, the channel which broadcast DALS
- Julien Clerc. Brian never met him but skated on his song “Le Patineur” (The skater)

There weren’t skaters. Nathalie had the French girls and Philippe Candeloro

We have learned that the third prepared dance was a contemporary dance. His nephew visit him thursday but they didn't broadcast the meet

 oh Brian!!! Finally his dad told him he's proud of him. OMG I cried for him. Brian you can be proud of yourself!!

Remember how in the very first episode he got emotional talking about how he felt that his dad didn't approve of his choice of sport, even to the point that he'd never attended a competition (iirc)? Makes that message all the more special. So happy for him! :)
