She had one fall, and I don't like that program, but she actually really impressed me there. She held it together really well.

I feel bad for Gracie regarding the fall, but she is certainly courageous. That was a very hard skate to follow and she kept her composure. I agree that Ashely has the Diva performance quality that isn't here with Gracie in this one, but I really admire Gracie's fight and her technical ability. Good for her!

Mirai's and Karen's programs back to back were so emotional. I felt so heart broken for Mirai, especially since she started so well. The guts for her to finish the program was so impressive, but I hope it didn't aggravate her injury. I hope she recovers emotionally and physically from this.

And then Karen Chen's skate was overwhelming and uplifting. Such speed, attack, beautiful jumps, spins and spirals, and elegance. Fantastic. My favorite performance. Really emotional too!

Ashley was also better than I have ever seen her skate. I was surprised especially the rotation on the jumps. It's not over yet, but I like Karen the best so far.

I like Gracie. Too bad about the fall.

The astronomical scores do seem like they should come back down to earth, but Russian Nationals, which had some marvelous performances, seemed high as well.

I'm seriously wondering if there is anyone in this thread who thinks scores received at Nationals goes towards international (and thus World Record) scores.

Well, all I'll say is Gracie is simply not the performer Ashley is. But perhaps it will come with time, and God willing, better music choices.

I agree.
Phantom after Ashley's that performance sounds kind of cheap.

Yup I am sorry she looks so sad. It really was a good effort and she is young. She has lots of time to win titles.

Good job Gracie. She did great even with the fall in there. But the music editing is not that great.

Everyone is really close to the boards. I keep freaking out when they are there because it looks like they could fall.
