Mmm, Idk. Japan lost too many figure skating stars from competitive skating last season: Takahashi, Machida, Oda, Susuki,(maybe) Mao. I don't think they would get rid of their current star right now. Besides, he has been the Japanese skater that had the highest placement here, and the young stars are still too young to be competitive at Javier/Denis/Patrick level. Maybe the "let's-make-Yuzuru-do-everything" idea will finally stop, which is actually good for him. But I don't think it would go to the extent of completely leaving him on his own, he is still young and has made history for Japanese figure skating. Takahashi still had the full support of JSF in 2011 when he didn't even podium, after winning in 2010.

He will definitely keep 4S and possibly put the second 4T into second half...

This thought was scaring me when his scores came up. I'm also worried that he might fall out of favour a little with the judges if he has a few more non exemplary performances.... But that's just too sad to think about so I'll stop.
My feelings are so bittersweet right now. There is SO much to be thankful for, and I am insanely proud of him, but I can't help worrying sometimes, or wishing that things had gone just a little bit differently.

4Lz is more possible than 4Lo if 4S is to be replaced
I think this time JSF learned a lesson that they can not rely too much on one skater and give all the pressure to that skater.

C'mon, a little reason here.
Yuzuru's still Japan's highest scoring skater, healthy or unhealthy. Crashes, surgeries, sprained ankles, lack of training and he still does light years better than Kozuka, Mura or Murakami. Next year Japan has only got 2 spots for Worlds, it's going to take Shoma about 2 seasons to reach the elite PCS and Sota is staying in Juniors as far as I know. Of course JSF will push their young stars but they're not going to abandon Yuzuru, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot.

I think the score is fair and the silver is right for him. But let's face it: Had it been Patrick, he would have 92 PCS and won (remember WC 2013?). The point is Canada Fed had no other star except Patrick by that time, so all force was for Patrick.
JSF have many young stars to push, they will not care about Yuzuru (PCS) as he has the gold already.
They can make money from him no matter how good or bad his results are as he has a huge fan base already.
The scores from many events suggest otherwise IMO.

I remember Dai's ex coach (aka Morozov) got angry as JSF interrupted Dai's training schedule for shows and events. As Dai already had a huge fan base by that time, they could make money from Dai no matter how good or bad his results are. I am afraid the same thing for Yuzuru. Numerous ice shows in the summer, events... not enough time for proper training.

:I am sorry but I can hardly agree with you. PCS is the last thing you could count on, and yuzu himself knows clealy about this. I cannot deny that I feel sad for him to lose this competition, but it was him left some room for javi and javi catched the opportunity. As Johnny said, he is so respected by judges and isu. Whatever the result is tonight, he got what he deserved, and that's it.
I don't like to see Yuzu was hit either, but I don't that was intentional. Those fans are not professional shooters and they can't be this good to get the target. Some had to go down 100 steps to be able to throw a toy into the rink. I am sure they meant well.
TBH the number of toys flying down freaks me out a bit... Someone said it was Poohvalanch....maybe fans should invent better ways to show their support...

I'm really very proud of Yuzuru, after this season, he still managed a well-deserved silver. Sure, it wasn't the result he wanted, but as Brian said to him at CoC, what matters is that he went out there and did it. Besides, I think that if there's someone Yuzuru wouldn't be as sad to lose to, is Javier. I'm not even sure he would have been happy with winning given how he skated and how Javier skated (he did it enter than Yuzuru this time). This might actually have positive after effects: he will come next season more motivated than ever, this season has served him as learning experience that he can't keep pushing himself over the top all the time. The Yuzuru-is-always-overscored haters can finally back off!
Of course he would still feel disappointed, anyone who doesn't win gold feels it one way or another (and sometimes, even the winner feels it), but he has so many supportive people around him (his family, Brian, Javier and Nam, etc), that will help him find the silver lining in this.
The judges are being less generous to him every time (have you checked the protocols? His highest GOE is 1.57 for the 3A combo that a few months ago would have given him something above 2), but he has never been fond of being a judges' favorite. This gives him the chance to prove himself next season and show everyone (once again) why he is one of the best. But now he knows he can't overlook his health and will take better care of himself (I hope), which will obviously lead to less injuries.
