The image of Plushy raiding Old Man Menshov's costume closet is hilarious, particularly since there's about a five inch height difference between the two! Although I can't claim credit for the term "tentacle costume" someone else came up with it. I thought thorn costume when I first saw it.

Wow...still no new costume. I do like the ones he wore, but I mean...the guy is married to Yana, the ultimate clotheshorse, and it's not like he's some young skater who is on a strict budget. Give your loyal fans a little something new, Plush!

I do love Carmina Burana, and there aren't too many skaters I think who could do it right (Anissina/Peizerat's version is the best ever, imo). But I'm certain that Plushy will do it justice.

Obviously he spent all his clothing budget on shoes! But hopefully he's just stringing us along and will reveal something new soon.

Meanwhile, I'm super excited at the thought of been able to see the new program! I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the live stream tonight, but hopefully some kind person will upload the Plushy bits.

Ooooo, I liked it! (But then I'm biased and like anything Plushy!) Since I've been watching old Plushy programs I must say he's really a whole lot better with the spins - Dick Button would probably find something good to say about them now!

Yes, he did Roxanne - I'd seen that on Twitter. But that was his old Tango Amore costume, was what I meant - sorry if I inadvertently created some misconception. (He really does love Roxanne, does he not?

And I watched and liked Carmina Burana. Then I showed it to my husband - and he liked it too.

It's early days, and I'm sure it will get even better.

I'm not sure how I feel about Carmina Burana. Maybe my expectations are too high for a brand new program (I remind myself that I was not impressed when Javi debuted Black Betty last year, but it looked 10x better in competition). Jumps & spins looked really good, the inbetween stuff needs work or I fear another season full of complaints about the Russian men and their "empty programs" (but I'm sure that will happen no matter if Plushy competes or not ). He did get a standing ovation, & I noticed he got the most applause after Yuzuru in the opening. So he made the audience happy & that's good.

Thanks! I wonder... is that his new short program? The layout, plus his insistence on doing sit spins (of all things) makes me wonder. The first half does need some work. However, I love the footwork at the end, with the twizzles and butterflies (?). It seems faster and more energetic than the footwork he's been doing since... I dunno, maybe Godfather. <insert obligatory rant about levelled StSqs killing SPs for me>

I liked it the first time I saw it, but... judging by how many times I've watched it since, obviously, it's relly growing on me. Of course, I'm not viewing it as a competitive program - but,, yes, the layout made me think it might be an SP in the making. But I don't think that this is its final incarnation if that is the case - I'm sure there will be a lot more work done to it. Also, is it only me, but watching show programs I'm worried that the skater will skate off the ice... I don't know why - is the ice smaller? or is it simply the lack of boards? Anyway, I really liked the music cuts - and I thought to myself that, actually, I think Plushy usually does have great music cuts... But then, I'm ever so slightly biassed.

I wonder how the golf is going - it's pretty big in Japan, so there's a whole lot of good ones there.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing - the Mullet Power is being invoked! How can anyone doubt he's not serious about his comeback after this?

Meanwhile, I don't know how many times I've watched the new program... It grows on me each time. And people - don't fret about the all-blessed-transitions - or lack thereof. So far, it's only an EX - if he shows up with this at a competition, and it's still exactly the same... that's the time to worry. Don't borrow trouble - enough trouble will be coming our way in time anyway - we all know that, so for now just... Enjoy.

It makes me feel better to hear you say that. I hate to be negative, especially on his fan thread. But I'm just not seeing anything new here apart from the music. I think CB also calls for a really dramatic costume with some red in it or jewel tones...so maybe he'll have something made if he is keeping this for the new season.
