Do we need to get worried? Russian ladies seem to get increasingly short of syllables.
Get Adelia in there she will be 4th in a row for the A's.Now in the same room.

Well, tomorrow's women's FS might be the most telling single event in a while. Pretty much every girl has something huge to prove. Will the two sofias show that they are still fighting for tier-1? Akateva needs the quad, does Mura also shock the world? Or have they really fallen off for now? Are the nerves too much or will they finally climb out through the other end of the fire? Is Sadkova going to finally enter tier-1 for the first time? With 2 clean quads at nationals? Will Yametova finally officially end up next to Frolova as a tier-1 non-ultra c skater? Will Sinitsyna bring it back and be next to Frolova again also? Gorbacheva also looking to return to her junior day competitiveness. Also looking at two quads. Gushchina pretty much proved herself already, shes skating like Frolova did last season. Her total composure in the SP today was veru impressive. Petrosian also looking to establish herself beyond any reasonable doubt as the most unbreakable skater since Valieva, and since nobody before that.
Is it really Petrosian and everyone else, or is at least someone on her heels?

I want to see Sofia MURAVYOVA trigger a 3A in FP tomorrow, but hopes are so slim.

You know, it's funny. The first time I saw Evgenia Medvedeva, I thought "My goodness! We've got a mini Adelina!" 
I thought they looked so much like each other. But as they got older, they diverged, and now they don't look like each other any more.
And may I just add: it's the same with Tarasova Bonsai (as @elektra blue named her a few years ago). Seeing Anastasia Mukhortova the past couple of days, she doesn't look like Evgenia Tarasova any more.

I'm also still eyeing any opportunity to see Adeliia skate live. RusNats is the goal but at this point with unexpected things always happening I'm thinking I should take whatever I can get. Planning for the perfect moment never works. Maybe with enough serendipity China could be an interesting trip... But then again, imagine you travel across the earth to see your one favourite skater and she bombs!
For me there is hassle with having to get a visa to go to Russia. Then problems with payments, etc (although China has those problems as well but not to the same degree). China has recently relaxed their visa policy for a number of countries, although not North American passport holders. One day I would like to visit Russia, but preferably not late December (I would prefer late June of course or maybe mid September for test skates), although Russian Nationals would be a highlight of a lifetime for a skating fan. I think I would wait for Valieva to return if I was going to make a once in a lifetime trip to Russia during the skating season.
JGP is also in Bangkok the weekend before the qualification event so possible to combine, but it doesn't seem to get the top junior skaters in general and at a small rink.

Good point about waiting for Valieva. I would totally wait for her. Crazy to see her live. I am pretty sure that she has commented on wanting to compete again after the ban. Isnt she technically allowed for next Nats though? Maybe she wouldnt compete cause its like a few days in advance, how would she prepare?
Yea, Russia has visa issues, but I see a lot of American tourists going there recently. If you really wanted to, you could. Payment is the more pertinent issue you bring up. You'd have to use crypto or cash. That being said, I think there are banks there that allow any passport to create an account and get a card, and deposit money from any currency once you get it in.
Russian winter is harsh, but in the big cities its probably fine with all the infrastructure. Moscow for example, the new year's time is probably prime, from a cultural perspective. The red square at that time is like a fairytale with all the festivities and ornamentation. Test skates is iffy cause girls often bomb out and theres no competition. They sometimes dont care about brining their best selves. Also missing lots of girls and up-and-comers. Nats is ideal cause you get the established new kids on the block and breakout stars.
They would have to give some kind of exemption I imagine, which they would given she was on podiums each season before the ban. It depends on whether they hold the event on the 3rd or 4th weekend of December in 2025. I have a feeling it will be the 4th weekend

She won't. In the interview she revealed that tried to get 3A back for RusNats but without success. So, if she clean tomorrow, there're some chances for bronze, but she'll need some mistakes from girls above her to happen.

Oh, I'm totally sure they'd let her in if she wanted. Its moreso about if she'd actually do it. She cant professionally train anywhere while shes banned. She probably wouldn't even stable competitive triples. She would need time to get back training with Eteri. Test skates would be fine if they allowed more people - not just the national team. At least for me. If I hit a big trip, I'd want to see the best best best possible. Test skates can actually rival best event of the year, if you're lucky, but its just a total gamble. For instance I wouldn't have been satisfied at all travelling for this year's test skates.

Unfortunately judges are very inertial and conservative - having preconcieved scores for each skater before skating even begins. It requires quads or many years of stable skating and reputation building to break this "queue" of judges favorites. Exact quality of elements or skating very rarely gets deserved rating - it's just how things are.
Oh, there are guys who understand how judging really works. Good.

There was interview with Kogan or Siharulidze (I don't remember who) recently. An he was asked similar question about date of RusNat in relation to lifting Valieva's ban. He said they are not going to move the date of whole competition for the sake of one skater.

The weather is fine now in Omsk . Pretty warm. And it is very beautiful time to travel around the end of December - everything is decorated for new year and everybody is excited about holidays . Is it? The 2022 winner wasn't allowed to skate in international competitions after the Olympics, Zagitova won a world championship the next season, Sotnikova unfortunately had injuries but competed a couple seasons later.Hmmm, Olympics, the famous career ending event..
Lipinski never competed again at age 16 after the Olympics, is that what you are referring to?
