Well, considering his nearest competition is Jason at NHK. Maybe I should revise it to "He will probably win even if he bombs." considering a Yuzu!Bomb gets scores that other skaters get for a clean performance. Lolol

I'd say his nearest competitor is Jin. If Jin does well at COC, the judges will sit up and take notice. At NHK his scores may go up. (pure speculation) Due to Jin's massive TES, if he goes clean the judges can't hold him down.
A Yuzu Bomb is about 150-160 Points in the free. That is well within striking distance of Jason, Murakami and Jin.
The speculation that goes on in my mind is so wild it prevents me from entering into the Prediction game.

And I like "Yuzu Bomb", it sounds so cute...like a bath bomb. But lets hope it never goes off. 
Actually Yuzu = citrus so I think I'm going to use "Citrus bomb" instead

Damn, I love both of these guys. The next few years are going to be a joy and a pain. But ultimately, I just want Patrick to win the OGM. Anything else, they can share and with Nam and Denis and Shoma and Javier. Such a great group of male skaters at the top now.

I think we also need the big four vs. Jin thread, in long run if he is not injured then could be a big threat to top skaters right now.

i concur with you both.... exciting male skating to come... i also hope patrick could win OGM... do i think he will? maybe in team? i don't know... but i was sad in sotchi because he lost focus after a brilliant start... but ultimately, i agree with both of you that it's going to be exciting an unpredictable for the next couple years...!!!!

A not bombing but not really clean DTen would/should have lost to a completely clean Shoma Uno. He wouldn't have needed to flat out bomb to not get the gold. Skate America has already passed. So, next week we'll get to see Patrick and Yuzu duel it out. But, statistically speaking, Yuzuru has never really performed at his best at the beginning of the season. So, while I know he'll do great, I won't be surprised if things don't go according to plan for him right off the bat at SC.

I don't think so. I'm crossing fingers for a clean short, but I think he'll only land one quad clean and make mistake on another, and possibly a mistake on another jump. I just really hope for a clean short because it'd bode well for the future. If the short isn't clean, it'll be a sign of a problem, IMO, because he's had that short for so long.
