That was great skating.
Yuzu fought back and conquered the 3 quad goal, but lost a little oomf.
Patrick skated the best I have ever seen him skate. Since when does he land his 3a so well? The rest was a master class in inbetweens.
Daisuke skated cleanly and gets on the podium with 2 will be legends.
Nam skated lights ot.
Wow, did they ever redeem themselves from yesterday!!!!!

Every single one of Patrick's elements was QUALITY. Shockingly, in all honesty. Yuzu had a much higher BV, but many of his jumps were shakier.

Do people here not know what flawless jumps look like?

That said, kudos to all the Yuzu fans who see how wonderful Patrick's skate was. As I said above, I usually don't prefer one over the other and tend to root for underdogs. (Denis is my faaaaaaaaave). People who are being bitter and biased because your fave was outskated :disapp:

And I'm a huge Yuzuru fan myself. I wish Yuzuru won. But it was fair Patrick beat him.

He skates with SO much speed during them, his edges are second to none (maybe Denis Ten), I can't believe you don't see it!

I think Shayuki is questioning that judge for not giving Patrick a +3 like the rest of the judges.

Well Chan's skating skills were better. Hanyu had almost no choreography, his jumps were labored, and was a little slow across the ice. I think it was scored fairly. Not to mention the obvious singled triple toe and the fall on the lutz.

Also, SS being only level 3 does hurt skating skill score(And probably others). Step sequence is very important for PCS and Chan's was like 50 times better than Hanyu's.

What was the entire thing for it being lvl 4... 3 turns with one foot, usage of upper body and something else... Skating to the rhytm / music did give GOE hm. Step sequence too complicated.

Lol if any men's skate was going to get GOE this good, it should be this one. EVERYTHING was pure quality. Don't get the outrage whatsoever.

Lbr, this is the competition where not everyone is going to be satisfied about who's going to come first. If Yuzuru had won, there'll be people complaining that Patrick has better SS, etc. And if Daisuke had won, people would still find things to bicker about.

At least, the men's FS is not a splatfest like yesterday and all top three skaters delivered their absolute best today.

flow... in the revolutionary etude, lyricism in the e minor prelude.... refinement and mastery all over...

interpretation can be a general idea... doesn't have to be a story... i actually find "concept" programs often too literal and tacky

So base value gap between Chan and Hanyu is 16 points yet, Chan wins.
Also I wish I could understand what Chan was interpreting and performing that deserved 10 across the board. Can't argue with the rest.

Yes, I found its true as well.

I look at his footwork and think to myself....my goodness it's clean. All the turns and steps are on clear edges. The shapes he traces on the ice is spectacular.

Only 3 judges gave Patrick 0 GOE on any of the elements (All of them discounted when calculating)
The 9th judge in the protocol....WOW!!!!!!! 4 10's and 1 9.75 for transitions.

Definitely possible,
But now there's a force just as strong as him,
I do believe their PCS would be closer later in the season

Davis and White got 25 10.0's in Sochi, and Virtue and Moir got 16.
