^yessssss! Love that part. That and the hydroblade and the Ina Baeur are my favorite segments in his FS.

In this competition Chan was really in a league of his own, but his problem is that he almost reached his max potential. With an added quad I can see him getting around 10 more points at best if he's absolutely perfect, his PCS can't really grow by much anymore and his GOE was off the roof. He doesn't really have much room to grow. And while his program was amazing here he's not really known for consistency.

Hanyu on the other hand has a much much better scoring potential, but I fear he doesn't have enough energy to do this program how it's intented to,at least not at this moment, but as the season goes on that might change.Or at least I hope so.
When I first saw his LP in practice last month I thought it was magical, his steps were amazing,he was so fluid, fast and precise in every moment, but I now know that he was only like that because he didn't do all his jumps in the practice. In competition the program loses it's magic a bit, it's like he's in ''evergy save'' mode. But I don't blame him,not with his tech content.
His doesn't have any energy left to do his Lz,same problem as GPF, and this jump isn't as secure for him anymore, not even in the short. So I think it's a very very bad idea to let it be the last jump of the program,if he falls the last impression of the program isn't that good
I know he won't change his content but changing the jumps a bit might be a good idea. I'll go with this
4S
4T
3F
----
4T-2T
3A-3T
3Lz
3Lo-1Lo-3S
3A
He'll have more evergy for his Lz and seeing how his Axel is the easiest jump for him,he'll probably be able to execute it cleanly

3Lo-1Lo-3S

Please no 3Lo-1Lo-3S, that combination is kinda fugly, even if Yuzuru does it :drama:

But hey, if we go for crazy not-gonna-happen-anyway stuff I want a 4S-1Lo-3S to accompany his 4T3T please. Now that would be bad*ss

I think 3A-1Lo-3S is pretty bad*ss already.

Not according judge #3 :laugh2:

To me, Yuzu layout is perfect as it is. It's obvious his is a long-term plan (one that probably include a 4T-combo in sp and 3 different quads in his LP for next Olympics).
Actually, he managed to execute it way better than his "easier" layouts at the same point of the season. He needs time to put fuel in the tank and to fully get such difficult program, but that's the reason his scores usually go up as season goes on.

Just looked at that , what the
He gave him 0 on 4S, 0 on spin, -1 on combo

He/She also gave Yuzuru 7.25's in TR(!) and IN, and a 7.75 in SS. Clearly one ghost Yuzuru missed to exorcise ;)

Off topic question I wanted to ask, because I just need to up my conspiracy theory-levels: are the judges always in the same order on the score sheet? So is judge number 1 (first column) also judge number one for everyone else, or could Yuzurus judge number 3 be Dice's judge number 7?

Nope, they are random :) Judge #3 for a skater can be Judge #9 for another and so on.

ITA. But notice that Patrick got 4.4 for his 3t (popped 4t), and a 4t is a 10.3. So he can add 6 points there. His goe on the 3t was 1.4. He can add something like a point more in goe, resulting in 7 extra points if he hits the quad. If he's perfect, he can score 197/8 (in TEB 2013 he got 196), on the other hand Hanyu has much more room to grow. He didn't do his 3t in the 3A-3T combo, add 4.4. Got almost 0 goe for 3A-1t, so add 2 points more in goe. He can also score more in goe in his quads, quad combination (hand down) and the other 3A combination, add 4 points. Not to mention level 3 on the step sequence and a fall in his 3lz, that costs about 3 points in goe and 1 point overall. That's 15 points in TES only. His pcs also can be much higher, at least 4 points. That would give him a massive 186+19=205. If he hits everything I'm sure he will surpass the 200 mark, and deservedly so. Chan's BV is a 83. Hanyu's is a 95. That's a huge difference, and both skaters can get huge GOE.

dong the second quad is not just upping the 3t to a 4t.. it's allowing him to replace the 2t that he did in combo with a 3lz by a 3t... so there is room

But he already does a 3t in the 4t-3t combination. If he replaces that 2t with a 3t he will zayak. He already repeats 4t and 3lz.

The abundance of 2's and 3's in Chan's jumps left me confuse and bewildered. Was that 3A a Mura or Han? That 3 loop the same one that Javi does out of a spread eagle? The lutz as lovely as the one's Hanyu did a few seasons ago?

all jumps well centered and had flow out of them. they were also solid and had nice air-time. they fit the program perfectly and were well-timed. all 9 judges agreed here. you may prefer hanyu over chan but yesterday's FP belonged to Chan. End of the story.

I am happy for Patrick that he had such a good FD, didn't see the short. I think his presentation or the program is just so vey good and suitable and his delivery seemed to have heart. I just hope the next two years do not become a Chan reign regardless of what he does.

Wasabi I don't think you have to worry about the next two years being Chan dominated he cannot really compete with hanyu unless Yuruzu mkes mistakes. Hanyu has out of this world tech scores. I kind of hope what happens with Davis and White happens with Chan. D and W may even really deserved secnd at Sochi but the "gods" gave them gold and it seems almost right or fair as both D and W and V and M are so awesome ditto for Chan and Hanyu. It almost seems unjust to have Hanyu despite his fans wanting him to have two golds. but then again life isn't fair and what is fair depends on what your view or spin is.

Wow Skaterboy - really disagree with you. BUT - time will tell.

I could live with a Chan domination. Love his style of skating.

I don't get this "you have your gold, time for someone else" mantra. Patrick had his reign from 2010-2014. I can easily say it's someone else's turn to "reign". On paper, the nod still has to go to Yuzu. Patrick is almost maxed out on both marks, whereas Zuzu can max out on components (which probably won't happen) and still have the potential score 10+ over PCS in TES. Disappointing he lost that World title for himself last season...
