Id be ok with either way tbh, if they just said what you just wrote or if they said "We decided we will wait for two more competition to decide what we will do with TEB skaters", so people know what is going on.
The silence is the worst thing they can do.
My understanding is that Gracie gets a place at GPF on the basis of her silver at SA and gold at TEB. The extra spot to be decided between those who after the TEB results accepted as final are out of GPF, ie Liza?
Chan might make it on his own, with the extra spot going to Aaron.
Agreed.... it's completely understandable if they want to wait two more competitions - and in fact, I think they should. But indeed, they need to TELL people this is what they're doing.
Exactly!!!! I have absolutely no problem with waiting, or even adding 4 skaters and taking the top ten. Even adding 6 skaters and having two flight's.
Just "Don't leave me hangin' on the promises, you've got to me know" If you know where that line came from........Please tell me.
It would go to Murakami first.Chan might make it on his own, with the extra spot going to Aaron.
It seems like Liza will be getting in the GPF whatever happens if the rule means that any skater that finishes outside the top 6 (with the most points) that was at TEB will be will get the 7th spot at GPF. Out of the 4 above her at TEB who could take the special spot, Gold has qualified, Lipnitskaia is out, and Murakami is out. If Rodeghiero places 1st or 2nd at CoR, she will get into GPF normally, thus the spot will be Liza's. If Rodeghiero places 3rd, Liza will be favored by the tie-breaker and will get the special spot over Rodeghiero. Only these four could've taken the spot from her.
For Chan, it seems like he will qualify based on his result. Murakami would probably get the special spot with 22 points (3+3) then Aaron is out with 19 points (1+7).
Is my Math right?
If Rodeghiero gets 3rd at COR, she will have 22 points and Liza will have 20; so Rodeghiero will get wildcard unless she qualifies outright.
I thought Liza would also get 22, with a win (15 pts) and 5th (7 pts)? (I based it from here.)
Lisa did not get a win; she lost to Ashley at Skate Canada.
Thank you for the correction! I'll change my post to reflect what you said. So it all comes down to Roberta; who would've predicted?Oh my, how could I overlook that.Thank you for the correction! I'll change my post to reflect what you said. So it all comes down to Roberta; who would've predicted?
I would love Roberta to get the bronze at COR and throw the ISU and Russian Fed into a fit. Ahem, I think her PCS might be in the toilet at COR....
Re: her PCS though; yes, I agree... Ah well, one can dream, right?I'd love to see her grab that bronze! Then we'd get a new report that apparently the ISU has decided on +2 skaters instead of +1.Re: her PCS though; yes, I agree... Ah well, one can dream, right?
I know I'm being cynical, but maybe that's why no official announcement yet....to determine whether COR results "will work" for ISU and the Feds.
I loved seeing Roberta do so well at TEB but realistically, the field is so deep at COR. Seven of the skaters have all had PB's higher than Roberta's PB for the SP.
It would go to Murakami first.
