And then they shared a nice hug in the press conference? Yeah, I noticed.
Ah, I didn't see the press conference. I guess Anna just forgot due to excitement.

It was. Trust if it was the reverse and Ashley did that to Evgenia or Anna, Americans wouldn't hear the end of it. Pro Russian forum members on here already called the crowd "anti-Russian" tonight because they didn't stand up fast enough in their standing-o to Evgenia.![]()
It's her 1st major podium
)!Mao was lovely, but really, really slow. The program looked very labored and without the speed and energy of the top girls.
Ok now on to the more serious matter.
I didn't watch NBC (because why bother).... but was Donald Trump there or what?

Guys, you need to see Anna live. She blew me away during her SP. She is passionate and skates big. Her jumps are just as big, if not bigger, than Gracie's. She made me a fan.

Have you guys ever wondered that maybe Zhenya gets SS points because she's able to make slow skating VERY smooth and graceful? (This obviously isn't why, it's clearly inflation but just food for thought)
And not the easy ones, too!To those who said Gracie should be mad at herself, I just saw this brief interview where she seems like she is just about done.
Even the reporter is like, "Damn gurrrll..."

I think if Worlds was not in the U.S. Anna would have beaten Ashley for the silver and it would have been Russia 1-2Of course they couldn't let that happen on U.S. ice so they lucked out that one American didn't bomb.
I also think its safe to say that Gracie Gold is by far on a consistent basis the most over marked lady currently competing right now, no question about it. I mean it would make some sense if she had a reputation as a winner or skating cleanly multiple times at big events but she doesn't. Ever since her arrival on the scene she's been making costly mistakes over and over, competition after competition. No World or Olympic medals in her shoe box and yet she gets the reputation points as if she were Michelle Kwan. There some real hardcore politiking at work![]()
I'm sorry, but Anna's Short Program was FAR superior to the Scheherazade long she did tonight. Honestly, I didn't get ANY Scheherazade from that program. I felt ZERO connection to the story of Scheherazade by Pogo. Sorry, but a story about how a woman made a heartbroken, murderous king fall in love with her and stave off her execution for 1000(1001?) nights with 1000 stories was not shown AT ALL. She shows ZERO emotional range in the program. She had the same expression on her face through the whole program. It was a clean skate that was scored well. She deservedly won the bronze.

geeeshh. I think she is being a little hard on herself.Wow... She doesn't seem to be taking this loss in stride at all.
"Once a choker, always a choker" I guess...
She should not be talking about "embarrassed" she is, she needs to focus on herself and not what others think.
I did, and it made me think she was being rude. But there was a moment after the press conference where Anna came over to Ashley and had a nice exchange/hugging moment, so I think she may have just been very overwhelmed with all the excitement. HOWEVER, I DO think that medal contenders need to work on their etiquette when stepping on the podium, because Jin Boyang did that last night too, by congratulating Yuzuru before Javi. Proper etiquette is, you take your bows, you congratulate the champion first, then the silver medalist, THEN you may take your step. But you know...details...Did anyone notice in the medal ceremony, Anna didn't congratulate Ashley?
