so maybe just maybe they wil change smth. Even if no the whole programm but maybe new lifts etc etc

I didn't put everything from the article, and there was a little more about the programs:

They will perform two different programs this season. Their Manfred Symphony long program, which they used for three consecutive seasons, is being put out to pasture. "We need to give Manfred a rest or else he will die," Kavaguti said with a laugh. "For the free, I would like to skate to Pagliacci (from the 2008-2009 season). I would be fine, though with anything but Manfred."

(I imagine things have been changing and progressing since the magazine went into print, so I'm not sure how accurate this info is about the programs.)

Well, on Monday the 29th August, the 1st stage of St Petersburg's Cup - going to be interesting - I do hope someone will provide videos. Some of the participants:

Either the skating speaks for itself, or it doesn't.

I just can't imagine which music from Game of thrones they used for such storyline.....
I'm also not a fan of programs with such complicated libretto)

Totally with you. If one has to explain verbally in advance the story of the program, then the program has already lost its meaning.

It has been strange this year we know very little about Russian ladies programs, and no summer skating videos except Adelina, Evgenia and Elena who performed in Japan and Korea. No word about Liza, Anna, Evgenia, Elena's new programs at all.

Liza already announced that she would be Cleopatra in her LP. And you'll probably get to see that and her new SP next week, if we are lucky.

I don't think it's two different things. Although the FS probably has some sort of storyline to it, too. But I haven't seen the brochure that will explain it.

Well its choreoghaphed by E. Sandhu and I remember him being fairly artistic so hopefully we get good choreo this year. SP is choreographed by T. Prokofieva so I'm not expecting much there.

I admit I am curious to see Sandhu's choreography. And you're right. He doesn't seem the sort to scatter that kind of kitsch in one of his programs.

Yes, I am sorry. There was an explanation also for the FS, and for some reason I thought you were refering to that.

As for the SP, I think if the choreography is good, a storyline like that should be visible in the program itself even without explanations.

I can see Liza as a convincing Cleopatra, but I'm not expecting anything too new or different for her, unfortunately. Sometimes you just have to stick with what has worked in the past. Hopefully she gets a good costume for it! If she wears black or another dark color for Cleopatra I'll be very unhappy. A bright color and lots of glam, please!

I'm not sure who else has done Cleopatra before, but I always think of Miki Ando.

Maybe it works for unartistic jumping queens? Liza has the charisma to pull it off better than Miki though. (Sorry Miki, I love everything about you off the ice though!)
