Victoria Sinitsina & Nikita Katsalapov

I feel really sad if this banned rumour is true. I hope everything will be good for them. I like their short dance and I am sure it will be better day by day.

Yes. As I understand Marina isn't opposed to the idea. And she suits them. And Skype-coaching will be cheaper  But it will be an additional bonus for them when she'll be seating with them at K&C corner. So I think it's possible.
I'd take even just her doing choreo & consulting If they're successful this season I suppose she will remain their coachShe can still come over to Moscow once in a while

Wow with my crappy mobile Inet I still managed to see the FD & wow even in this state of being very raw, with mistakes & without some elements it really made me happy!!!! It looks soo stylish!!
But it will only work if they do all the elements super clean which is quite a challenge for them
Such a grown up programm!

It's a good free dance, their best yet for sure! But their state right now is simply catastrophic. Hopefully it's because Nick's injury only, they still have two months before their first GP event. Don't see a single reason for them to go to Challengers in such condition, honestly. They need to work HARD :)

They weren't exaggerating when they said that they basically just had the time to learn the dances and that's it...that was rough, particularly the FD. The material is good, though. I think the FD has great potential, it's really lovely and intricate. They need to get it clean, always a challenge for them, but only then can they skate it up to potential. But since they have the last two GPs, there's still time smooth it all out, and if they manage it will be beautiful. Particularly the FD, and it was in fact little known Piazzolla, whou would have guessed...;)

yeah no question that the hard work is in order.

re: they should have skipped the FS at test skates like someone suggested in the test skate thread
Imho no they shouldnt have skipped!
1st they were always blamed for not participating in test skates b/c they were 'certainly' priviladged
If they WD from the Free dance yesterday those ppl would have hade a field day blaming them again
2nd as fans now we have material & a starting point of comparison. It would be interesting to see the progress from this skeleton/model of the programm to the GPs & other competitions + we know the music
3rd imo its brave that they didnt chicken out & even in this state decided to show it to the public

would really like to know how it was received by the specialists at closed ckates. did you see anything, Snow?????

Vaitsekhovskaia hinted that both teams received positive feedback, but no direct confirmation.

By the way, it was me who suggested them to skip FD, and I still think so. Sorry :)

I can't believe people still live in illusion that Ilinykh and Katsalapov can be repaired together :slink: And even if it was possible, there is simply no sense. It's too late.

Im one of the delusional ones
yeah too late but WHAT IF:tantrum::laugh:

I would give money to look into the future & wonder what happens in 10 years time
Will they regret the decision or not
Probably depends on the success either will or won't have...
But I really want them be civil eventually:cry:

Samuelson and Bates broke up 5 years ago and people still talk about them. Skaters may move on very quickly, but it`s very different for skating fans.

I was against the splitting too. In fact, if you check my early post you would be surprised, because I was so furious :) But now it's too late, momentum is long gone and their technique is changed, they will need AT LEAST one season just to learn to skate together again. So nope, I don't want that.
