Gracie Gold

Frank Carroll....OMG...he should have realized the FIRST day he saw that short program Lori Nichol threw together for Gracie that it's COMPLETELY wrong. It is almost an exact copy from last year. Gracie deserves A LOT better than this short program.

And Frank....TWO FLIPS in the long program this year?? Try two loops. You're just asking for trouble.

I had similar thoughts. I'm puzzled by the strategy. It would seem showing another level of progression would both help show she is moving on from last season and also help with her own competitive mindset. Plus, consistency in competition has been a liability. Just DO the jumps that we all know she is can be masterful at, and not leave points on the table that will make the difference between medal or no medal at the major competitions... is my view.

And judges are willing to throw her PCS points so she can win when she goes clean anyway. Has she ever not placed 1st when she goes clean? I know she's never been clean for both SP and LP but for either SP or LP...

Gracie Gold had a lackluster showing at the Japan Open, I do hope this is not telling for her season this year.

She seemed to be in a slump after losing at worlds, I hope she gets it together by Skate America.

Despite all the falls and mistakes, I think that Gracie's new program has potential. In my opinion it'll get better as Gracie usually improves later on in the season. Her dress is also beautiful, though the ivory does blend in too much with the ice.

has Gracie taken too much of a long off season break ?
she was out of form and doesn't look fit for the season, her face was looking uninterested....

I haven't watched her skate (too painful :hopelessness:), but I hope this is a kind of wake-up call to get it together and she comes back with a vengeance at Skate America.

Anyone wanna join the group hug? :ghug:

I still believe this girl will win something big one day, on international scene.

:ghug: I watched every other skate from Japan Open and then was going to watch her last. I couldn't even get all the way through it. We keep waiting for her to come back next time, and I'm starting to fear that it won't happen. I'm afraid if she's reading Twitter, etc., it's just really had a terrible effect on her. I'll still be there cheering her on at Skate America, but it almost seems like maybe it's going to take a little magic or voodoo or something! :handw:
