I can't belive it but I'm getting involved emotionally in those skaters, I was heartbroken for Gregori! I'm so mad at that b***h ex-girlfriend of his who showed him thumbs-down from the audience! Boy, you need to find a new love pronto! But his costume was something to behold, omg.

Everything about him was glorious, I like him more and more and yes, she's not nice at all, did you notice, she also sent him photos of her with the other dude, after the 3F? Not cool. I want him to do well, to spite her then have her come running back for him to then flip her off!

Somehow I don't think the real CoC can come anywhere near the drama we just had here so recipes it is!

Yeah. Nobody knows how he treated to cause her to react to him with such disdain. That said, since we don't know, I really love Gregori.

The scoring system in this world must be much much more severe on falls and overrotations and hand-downs because I don't know how Yuri lost his 20 point lead over Phichit after the SP after that performance. Maybe he lost levels on his footwork and spins that we don't know about or maybe he Zayaked himself haha. Also, I don't know why one of the skaters (was it Phichit?) planned a triple-single-double combination. A triple-double-double would have been more points if he wasn't planning a triple as the third jump anyway. Oh well.

^I think it was supposed to be a half loop combo? Maybe? The proper way to designate one in the system is eg 3A-1Lo-3F, so maybe that was what they meant?

GAH I have so many feelings mainly agreeing with VIETgrlTerifa that HE SHOULD HAVE WON. Phichit was good but he ain't overhauling a 20 point SP lead with that content.

I agree that the scoring system is pretty harsh! I was really surprised when Phichit won. No, Yuri didn't Zayak himself. His layout was 4T-2T, 4S, 3Lo, 3A (hand), 3F, 3A-1Lo-3S, 3Lz-3T, 4F (fall). I'm guessing there is a harsher penalty on mistakes/falls and he probably lost a couple of levels...Maybe they are really conservative and even gave him a deduction for the display of affection after his program ended too!

...Maybe his step sequence was marked invalid. WHO KNOWS!

Yes, I've been wondering about the scoring too but since they've been wonky a few times already, I figure this is one of those too. I think the Swiss got almost 200, something like 198? And he had three quads. I am genuinely not sure either how Phichit won (his combo was a half loop middle IIRC) but he's a sweetie so it's ok. I also loved his music, in general, the show keeps on using good music for programs.

Too bad they didin't show Yuri's score at all. Maybe it will be mentioned in next episode... I don't understand why they make him go for such high BV only to drop him to second place, even though he had a great advantage after SP I guess it's half fantasy world :handw:

The problem with being figure skating fans and a strong understanding of IJS, it's hard to understand score placements like this. I assume that Pitchit PCS was huge, but seriously it wasn't that much a difference in Presentation between him and Yuri.

Oh well, we all know two silvers can get you into the GPF.

Yeah, I guess regardles which Yuri wins Rostelecom and which come in second, both should make it to GPF I miss some triplets action, I want them in next episode!

The exact moment I knew I was a GS goer was when I started to think : how can they get scores so high with all those doubles anyway???

Now that I know there is a Jason character (evidently the show's twitter feed has posted a shot of "Leo" next to Jason), maybe I need to watch an episode, but I have a way more general question, and I'm sorry I can't scroll through 31 screens to find my answer ...

My youngest niece *loooves* anime. Goes to conventions with mild cosplay. Way into it.

I know NOTHING about anime. I couldn't tell you what kind she likes, what she watches (other than it's not adult), what the names of the programs are, etc.

Will she need to like figure skating to like this anime? I have tried to get her interested in FS, but she cares as much about skating as I do about anime. So will this be a good intro?

Please be honest and try to ignore, for the moment, our love of skating. Will it be worthwhile? Or do you need to know at least who Yuzu is?

I don't think you need to know anything about skating to like the anime. These past two episodes the animation wasn't the best but i follow one of the animators on twitter and i can tell you, they make gorgeous animations! (and that guy seems to be an aesthetic yuzu fan, since he has sketched him quite a bit ) The story is good, speaking as a huge anime fan, and there is tons of fanservice so that's always good. Plus the characters are attractive and the music is sooo good Maybe if she starts watching it and begins to feel the adrenaline of rooting for your favorite skater she would be interested in skating, given how they are actually putting real competitions in the anime. If she starts getting into it tell her "oh btw, next week is NHK Trophy, wanna watch?" and watch her go all "IS THAT REAL?!" (i had a similar reaction with a friend recently hahaha)
So yes, as an anime fan i think it would be very worth the try. Myself i took an interest in swimming thanks to Free! although i sink like an anchor (but i managed to learn how to propel myself on the water so yes, i guess it was good )
