Figure Skating Anime

Yuri P is so adorable and I really liked his FS!! (spiral into 3A :luv17:) Go Yurio :yahoo:

The scene of Yuri and Yuri at the end was the highlight for me :)

Hey everyone

I decided to watch this anime and this series is just magnificient. I found a website with Hungarian subs and with HD picture which make the whole experience really perfect for me :hap93: There are trillions of hints of the real FS world, which is very fun to watch, but at the same time it is often very different from the reality. That's what is so good about it.
The production, the details (even technical details of FS), the characters are all so great. I am not an anime fan myself, I've only watched 3-4 series when I was a child so I am amazed how gorgeous amazing the whole production looks like.

And eww please stop this Mickey-Sara incest please! their relationship is just plain gross and unrrealistic! usually, siblings grow up fighting with little explicit affection for each other yet still having sufficient family love for each other but those two are just too much! #StopIncestInYOI :roll5:

Have you ever hear of people not fitting into the box? Not all siblings grow up fighting. Not all siblings show little explicit affection. Not all siblings have sufficient family love. Family relationships come in in all shades. Some siblings downright hate each other, some abusive, some are affectionate, some are dependant. None of these shades is unrealistic. Even incest isn't unrealistic because, hello, it does happen sometimes.

Can you stop childish whining because an anime is touching on issues you don't like? Just because the main relationshipn is cute and healthy doesn't mean all realtionships on the show have to be cute and healthy. We had Georgi not being able to deal with being dumped by a girlfriend, why not have a brother/sister dependancy bordering on incestous? If you're able to get past the childish "omg gross" reaction, it's actually presented as being unhealthy and it's being resolved.

R-Yuri's Grandpa is simply the best! Pirozhki with katsudon? Can he love his grandson more? :points: I loved R-Yuri in this episode, he got plushy cats  And just like karne, I cracked when he run away from J-Yuri hug :laugh2: And also ho he gave J-Yuri katsudon pirozhki and was getteing angry he lost to JJ again :angry1: Oh, and that spiral 3A was awesome!
I really dislike all the reminiscing during skate... I understand thoughts, but do we really need to see again the scenes we have seen not so long ago?... I'd rather watch skating. Regarding Michele and Sala, I think Michele is just overprotective and had gone in wrong direction with his brotherly love a little, Sala seems to be perfectly normal, which she proved in this episode I think. I really liked she and Mila & Georgi (even with him not competing) were watching together, that was one of this realistic scenes, and I liked that Georgi understood what Michele's program was about right away. Emil skate was so Czech... I mean, headcase all the way. I'm sad for Seung-gil, he must've been really dissapointed to cry... :(

How I see R-Yuri in first episodes: http://basstech-deck.tumblr.com/post/142747318099/sixpenceee-im-not-sure-who-the-artist-is-if

Hello? that comment was just my personal opinion and I have the full right to whine about anything related to the anime I want on here. If you have problem with my opinion, save yourself the trouble and ignore it. I'm full aware that not all sibling relationships are perfect (that's why I said USUALLY not ALWAYS) but I was merely expressing how it made me uncomfortable and I'm sure a lot of others felt the same too. No need to personally attack me just because you don't agree with me.
Have a nice day and release your personal frustration on somewhere else, not on people.:cool2:

And there was a thread recently asking why don't more sibling teams try for romantic themes in their programs. If the reaction between a fictional brother and sister that has one member overly protective and having borderline amorous-like thoughts but not actually being explicitly romantic is totally creeping viewers out, then can you imagine a real world show case of something more explicit, even if it's just "acting" on the ice?

So I caved and watched this new episode... and couldn't help myself and rewatched some from earlier... just thinking about all the essays I have to write later make me :hopelessness:

Very happy to see the character development for Yurio! Nice to see him try to cheer Yuri up even when he's feeling not-great about losing to JJ. :gclap:

And I'm starting to dislike JJ... such ego... King?! He never even won the World title (at least not in the past five years). :rolleye:

The pseudo marriage proposal was cute. :luv17:

My absolute favorite moment - When Yuri hugged Gil and Gil became blue in the face ||| :laugh2:

As for the sibling thing... pink in case anyone doesn't want to see: there is a really popular ongoing novel series about a brother-sister pairing, last I check they were engaged to be married, the author even worked out the detail that the sister had some genetic thing done so they (the siblings) can have children without defects... what's in YOI is nothing.

The last scene when Yuri and Viktor met after Rostelecom was so beautiful, touching. It really sums up how Yuri missed his coach during his long program, not only physically but emotionally. I also liked the one when the two Yuris met at the bridge and how R-Yuri cheered Yuri up, finally a development in their relationship.

So someone went and found the place where Victor and Yuuri presumably went on a date in Moscow in the official art that was released a few days ago. It was skating! Of course it was.

But Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is excellent. The world building alone, it's worth all the onii-samas (the novels, not the anime). And technically she's not his sister, she is considerably further down the line thanks to the DNA manipulation. Of course, we could argue that being brought up as siblings has it's own repercussions but I do give him kudos for how he solved it as DNA manipulation has been introduced way earlier, unrelated to those two, in very important ways. There are also legal reasons IRL why he had to do that, if he wanted the pairing. These are books about magic btw combined with technology. Not that I am reading that, or anything...

It is, I really like the series~ Though they do have the same biological parents, right? Plus they weren't raised up together and only met during middle school? Sorry if I was wrong, I read the first few volumes and had to rely on spoilers because I wanted to wait until the series gets finished.

I've read 1-17 and yes. But really they both were fiddled with and ever since the concept of elimination of all strong emotions, apart from the ones for Miyuki was introduced, I was pretty sure the author would choose something like this as the option. I just figured it'd be different parents in the end somehow but he chose this, and it amounts to the same. Yes, Tatsuya was 13 I think when they met. These novels have a lot of interesting questions to ponder about.

But yes, not to digress too much, YOI compared to some things that exist is really nothing. You never know with anime when you'll just get smacked with siscon/brocon. Sometimes you can get past it but sometimes it quickly turns into a huge no. YOI is baby stuff especially as they seem to be dealing with it, which is really rare.

Yes, I expect that as well, though I really hoped that it would turn into a Tatsuya harem situation... wishful thinking, I know. Either way I'm totally fine with any type of relationship because it's all fiction and for me love is love, so...

And in YOI it's really light plus it's more one-sided so it'll probably get "resolved" though maybe not in this season.

I am still waiting my Mao character, I guess the writer is not her fan :sad21:

As far as I know nether Sala nor Mila are nr 1 in Ladies (Mila is ranked 3rd and Sala is ranked 4th), so we have to still to wait for introducing Ladies ranked 1st and 2nd in YOI :) I think they may be mentioned in GPF episodes and pretty sure someone like Mao will be somehow represented!

The relationship between Yuuri and Viktor is so fascinating. There is such a deep connection, however, I still don't think their love for eachother is romantic.
lool every ep I want to quit this show b/c its certainly romantic :slink::laugh:
but I cant:rofl:
maybe after the kiss/marriage/whatever Im gonna limit my watch only to Yurio/Yakov/skating scenes

Plushy cameo:hap10: & finally Yurio bb got some development!:hap93:
he's a little tiger

& after GoT I dont think I'll ever have a problem with sibling relationship of ANY kind:laugh: it's all child's play in comparison to Jamie/Cersei!!

To be fair to your comment, I thought the same too at first viewing (and from youtube comments, it seems it wasn't just us), border-lining Cersei and Jaime from GoT. Especially when that scene of break up under the moonlight was featured in Mickey's mind. :palmf:

But at second viewing, I think it does seem quite platonic. Just wish they had featured it in a non-cliche manner that is usually featured in Anime romance.:rolleye:
