So fuji changed againand they are broadcasting program with Yuzu tomorrow, he will talk about his ambitions for 4cc
Hmm, wasn't this where Yuzuru ended up doing a split? (ETA Yes, yes it was) I think I've only seen him do one twice.
Oh My God, somehow I thought you were replying to the person before you, not myself, so I thought "WAIT, Yuzuru did a three limb jump and I missed it ?!?!". I need sleep. His and other men's insanity got me thinking anything is possible.
Now I am imagining things.
Now I am imagining things.
Happens! I have this tendency when I am sleep deprived too, it can result in some hilarious blinking. Go, nap, before it gets worse ... somehow ...![]()
Guys, I'm running a fever, don't give me nightmares!!!![]()
Owww! Sorry Fayruza, I hope you get better quickly, those are no fun! Here's something to promote peaceful rest.

Unrelatedly, Angela Yuzu shared a link in the FB fangroup to Oda's interview: http://news.mynavi.jp/news/2017/01/05/356/
His kids look up to Yuzu and want to become like Hanyu-kun~ The youngest one is too young to put into skating shoes yet, but Oda still shows him videos of Yuzu skating. Adorables.
And this video overlay of Yuzu's jump is so cool![]()

I had stomach flu and I think it messed with my sleep last night because lo and behold, Yuzu was in Olympics and somehow I knew he was about to turn a planned 3A into a #yolo 4A out of nowhere. I woke myself yelling nooooo and then I see that Arena post about three impossible wishes. I hope/wish he never gets injured again, if there's such a quota for injuries he's totally maxed out by now.

No.Hello I have some questions about figure skating and Yuzuru (sorry if they're really obvious ones)
1. Did Yuzuru start the first quad battle? And in what event with who?
'cause it has half a rotation more. 'cause it has a forward take-off, which many find tricky and anyway it's a totally different take off from all other backward jumps.2. Why is the axel jump so hard? Why can some do quads but not axel?
'cause it is what differentiate boy from man (or girl from woman), or so they say.3. Why is the axel compulsory?
I don't know what you mean, sorry.4. Why does the axel go so far compared to other jumps?
See answer 2 or 3.5. Why is the axel put on such a high pedestal- it seems like the best jump or som.ething seeing as I saw people saying you aren't a real senior men's skater unless you can do a triple axel
Ask Mishin! (good jump technique = text book technique on take off, height & distance reached, air position, landing. You can land and complete a jump even if your technique at take off is not the best, even if your air position is iffy, if you don't have a great height or distance, if your landing is less than perfect.)5. What is a pure jump technique- how can a jump technique be dirty? And why is Yuzuru's pure?

(same reasons as answer 2: it's mandatory because it has such a different take off and dynamic compared to other jumps. And in figure skating you should be able to show all different technique, axel one included)
I don't know what you mean, sorry.
See answer 2 or 3.

1. No, but it has become more frequent because of him
2. The mechanism of the jump requires a forward take off and in order for a skater to land on the back outside edge, an extra 1/2 rotation in the air is required (harder than it sounds). Also, because the skater is taking off on a forward edge, its that much more scarier to execute. Think of falling forward vs falling backwards.
3. Not sure, but I would assume because its the most difficult jump to execute and its to ensure that skaters will put the effort to learn it. In juniors, there are two required jumps in the short program one of the being the axel as well. The other required jump will rotate every year and needs to be a solo jump (Flip,Lutz,Salchow,Loop)
4. It depends on the skater, since that's not always true.
5a. Because of the difficulty of the jump.
5b. Take off/spring, air position, and landing position. There is a generally accepted technique which is considered to be the most efficient and aesthetically pleasing. The general idea is a straight, tight, position which keeps the rotation axis and lands with a running edge.
Examples of bad techniques:
See how he reaches down onto the ice during take off?
"Mule kick/Hammer toe" Where the free leg goes above her hip and she slams her toe pick onto the ice. (Yuna Kim also had a bit of a hammer toe despite her perfect lutz edge)

1. I think it all started organically at the 2015 ISU World championship gala.
This is the earliest one I remember in competition gala. Its probably been done since the late 1990's/early 2000's in ice shows.
Russian split, and what looks to be a catch foot spiral![]()
