I'm just here to help get to 20 pages before the competition starts![]()
I think we can go better than 20. Men's SP isn't until Friday night and it's only Sunday afternoon.
Er... None of those competitions have happened yet.

thank you.
However, I wish I were able to discuss the skating of other skaters, whether I like it or not, without having to read "but Patrick this or that"... Did i bring him up in the topic? No...
And the truth and the matter for me is that I don't see that Patrick Chan should still be getting 90s in PCS for lifeless, splatfest performances like his FS at Worlds, but it happens. And Chan's ludicrous PCS even when he makes mistakes already robbed Boyang once this season!

I clearly need to travel back to Australia so that we can have coffee. We can talk about Max, Patrick, and dreamy Patrick Rafter.
I know I am, although I liked his Rhapsody in Blue SP and am sorry he returned to his earlier one. Slay, Grant, make that top ten; no one thought you could do it at World's last year either.
You mean seven points? To be fair every nationals over scored their athletes. Shoma got a FS score of 192 with major errors. Kaetlyn scored 138 with two falls. You can't take these scores seriously.
But I do think he will get a PCS of 88 or 89. There's always a jump in PCS when a new senior becomes consistent and another when they become a national champ.
Rockerskating predicted that Nathan is going to win and I don't even know anymore because anyone can win! I do hope this competition can be beginning to good path of mens figure skating until olympic. What I do hope is that it won't be just a jumping program that win.
Let's focus on the SP now. I think if all Yuzuru, Patrick, Shoma and Nathan will deliver a clean program or a program with minor mistakes, then I think Yuzuru gets the first place, followed by Chan, then Shoma and Nathan.
A clean
-Yuzuru may get a new world record
-Patrick would get a new PB and 100+ points
-Shoma like Patrick, but not sure, maybe less than 100
-Nathan would get a new PB, and around 95 I guess (he wouldn't get 44 on PCS as he did at Nationals, and his GOE would be less too)
There is no way a clean chen will only get 95. He got 92+ with only clean sp when he only did 2a. If he does 3a, he has the highest bv. He probably won't get 44 for a clean sp yet, but 43 is very possible. A clean chen will definitely score 100+. A clean chen will score higher than a clean uno as well because his bv is higher and pcs won't be much lower.
Judges have been much less generous this season than last season. All of Fernandez, hanyu and Chan got lower goe and pcs even for their clean performances this season than last season. Last season's inflation rivals Olympic inflation, maybe even more than Olympic inflation. Judges gave out +3 and 10s like candies last season. This season, judges hardly gave out +3s and 10s. (I think judges are trying to save the scores for Olympic season.) Hanyu might not even break world record when he skates clean this season despite doing more difficult programs.
When all skate clean sp, I think the ranking will be in the order of hanyu, chen, uno, Chan/Jin (Chan and Jin's clean sp scores would be close.)
)If the judges score less generously than last season then Chen shouldn't get 43 or 44 for PCS at all. Even if he lands a 3A it shouldn't be more than 98. But of course, it's the second half of the season, PCS tend to get higher + judges will surely jump on the bandwagon if Nathan goes clean, so I won't wonder if he gets higher scores than what I think would be fair.
If Hanyu lands the 4Lo perfectly and gets more +3s GOE and a little more PCS too than he did at GPF then I'd be a bit surprised if he didn't get WR.

again... this is based on BV from previous competitions.... what if Patrick comes up with two quads? he would be pretty much in the same league as all the others... Sure his 4S isn't worth as much as a 4L or 4Lz, but it's also much closer in BV than a 3Lz....
I think we will soon find out who goes clean and who doesn't..... the if everyone goes clean speech hasn't been very useful in the last competitions because it almost never happens... too many risky jumps... this being said, all I will say is that I disagree with the poster who said if everyone goes clean Jin and Chan are equal.. Chan should have higher GOE and PCS enough to compensate for the 3Lz versus 4Lz here.... but we will see![]()
