for what it's worth : this is a very special event and it got people talking about quads and programs... I doubt this is a trend that will be repeated, not even at worlds.
I posted a lot but I invite you to check what I wrote if you are going to call me up on it... most of it is actually related to program layouts and the actual SP. We often have a few pages before every competition thread but this one took off since everyone is wondering who will bring what... it's been for the most part, I'd say 90% of it very informative about the many contenders and how they have evolved this season, especially with Nationals happening just a few weeks ago.
Sorry, I didn't want it to sound like I was picking on you. I just used your post to reply to because you were the one that reminded everybody that this was a competition thread.
It was when I checked the post counts afterwards that I discovered that you were the highest poster in this thread.
Thanks for letting me know that this thread has largely been on topic. I only went into it for the first time a few minutes before I made that post, and the discussion was about food and I was thinking "What on Earth?!" And I think that probably skewed my opinion of the thread as a whole, which then prompted my post.
Finally, it's easy enough to update the OP and say : that commentary during the actual event starts at page 50... or whatever![]()
That's actually a good idea. And now that I think of it, that is exactly what was done for the first few Challenger Series events last season, when they had event threads before it was decided to instead have sub-fora with competition threads. In those early rounds, bookmarks were inserted to the threads to mark the start of the discussion about each segment.
PS
I think that many of us see this thread as a very productive tool compared to similar threads in the Edge where skater X would be compared to skater Y.... and then leading to fan wars... this thread has avoided that because many skaters were discussed and almost everyone, knowing that ice is slippery (I assume that's the reason) has been courteous when giving constructive criticism
That is good to hear. I don't even go into those threads you refer to when they appear any more, because I can't stand the slanging matches.
So, sorry if I annoyed you without knowing all the facts (50 pages is rather a lot to go through!

P.S. I missed the start, due to not getting into the bathroom early enough. So, I'm going to watch other stuff that I missed yesterday, and watch the Men's SP at a later stage.
