2017 Jr Worlds Mens FS

And I... feel bad for Petrov. He does have something about him, his presentation is my cup of tea and that posture!
But... is it the first time all the Russians did decently good? No meltdown.
Congrats to Vincent!

Honestly, top 6 all deserve a medal!

He's so shy! So cute!

He's fluent in Mandarin, so why doesn't the announcer let him answer in both languages? Oh well, he must be so overwhelmed right now.

IMO, Samarin and Vincent should both be receiving lower PCS in comparison to the rest of this particular field. Like, 2-3 points less. Dmitri and Daniel are the best, Jun Hwan and Petrov just slightly below them, but then Vincent and Samarin are on a full level beneath those 4 and it just isn't getting reflected in the points.

Dimitri needs to up his content. He had the 6th TES score of the night. He really benefits from the current rules not allowing quads in the SP. He will have a hard time in Seniors

True, i've heard he practice other quads but can he landed them?

If you put as much effort into learning about PCS crirteria and how they are evaluated... as you do into your conspiracy theories...

...You would find you either
a) have a lot less to complain about after all,
or
b) would actually be able justify your complaints (wouldn't that be something?)

Start reading. How is samarin's pcs so high? What is P/E? Shouldn't it be 5instead of mid 7? Get a life.

Hey YesWay, you saw these guys at GPF this year right? Samarin seems very fast and his jumps look really nice and big...that probably helps his PCS, do you think?

Congrats to 3 winners, and Ms Gambil for finally arriving in the echelon of FS coach.
I know there'd be a question about impression of Taiwan. So far Patrick Chan in 4CC last year gave the best answer .

Urghh.. this is what annoys me. Jun is 3.08 points from 3rd place, those Political Component Scoring points really matter!!! The only way to over come it is to be perfect

And yet the Israeli skater got 2nd highest PCS, over 2 Russians & the Americans, and he wasn't perfect either.

congrats to the all the skaters!!!!!
Vincent ! Great jumps!!!
Aliev : Beautiful all-around skating. Really enjoyed his style.
Samarin : not my cup of tea but I see why people like him.

Canadian boys : Conrad ! My son!! very good performance... now talk about low PCS... but it's okay!!! you are going to improve.

Nic and Roman : see the glass half-full : gorgeous short programs. Today wasn't your day... so what? Many more opportunities will come!!!!

Cha's PCS barely cleared the lifeless Samarin. It's sad.
But senior will correct all that. You want big PCS, land clean quads.

I know right - that was sad to witness. But I would like to give benefit of doubt ... maybe out there on site things like speed / edges etc. looked better for Samarin than on stream? Maybe Cha was slow. I can't wait to check protocols ... Samarin bar low quality landings had also messy spin combo, I do wonder whether they called him up on that. Either way ... I'd prefer & put Cha at least one place higher overall. Bronze medal would be deserved either imo.

He does 4T at seenior competitions in his SP.
But I do agree he needs to up his content and be more consistent.

Maybe he'll become the male Diva Wagner.

Now that you said it. Lol. But seriously, I hope this gives him confidence and he could be more consistent in the future. He missed the JGPF because of this issue (and unfortunate GP placement too). I wonder how he will skate carrying the junior world champion title who landed 3 quads would be. Expectation would be through the roof in his senior career. Did not bode well for Samohin, at least. These 2 are not the most consistent skaters but everyone expect they will skate lights out everytime :slink:

Hopefully Aliev Samarin and Petrov can do more than just quad toes when they go full time in seniors.

He has to have at least 3 quads in the free in order to be competitive with the seniors.
I think he is doing quad lutz but don't know how consistently

You can say that about Javier as well. Just because they once earned their reputation, doesn't mean their lackluster performance always deserve it.

okay... leaving you all "debate" sun is shining and breakfast is calling... life is beautiful ;)
