Patrick Chan

I believe Patrick is changing up his jumps at the top of his LP although the layout plan on ISU site is the one he was using all this season.

I hope he is more comfortable with his new planned layout at this competition. He must have had success with it in practice.
 
well there is no way Patrick will do that "planned layout" unless he wants to zayak:)
i think it's an old erroneous one ;)

haha i am just referring to the fact that he cannot repeat 4t,3a and 3t but everyone, not just the planned layout, has been mentioning these jumps being repeated for a while now... even in Bev Smith's recent article she had done so... I had to point it out to her :) LOL

I am pretty sure Patrick will start with 4t-3t and 4S... we will see what happens next ;)

Honestly I think they just said hell with it and filled out the planned program content with whatever. Him and his team probably know whats going on anyway.

I think at 4CC he did the same thing, at least he only did a couple jumps and mostly just marked everything, thanks for sharing =)
 
I just posted what was there but never got a chance to say that I know by experience to take those "planned elements" sheets not so seriously. As a skater myself, I've never done the elements in order or as they are laid out on the sheets that are submitted at the starts of the competitions, and often those will be edited several times before the SP and LP's even happen.

But I digress...:laugh:

yup re both points ;)

i think it would be better anyways for Patrick to zayak an extra 3 toe on his 3A combo than not put any jump after it like he did twice this season and got REP for it.

The thing is simple : Patrick plans always to do 4t-3t to start... but if he doesn't get that combo, things can shift all over the place... at nationals, we all got surprised to see that he was practicing 3a-3t in the warm up... then ended up doing 3a-2t-2l, a combo he had never performed before..
I trust Patrick knows what he is doing ;) i m just curious to see what he ends up doing ;) haha
 
@4everchan: Yes he did. Once. 3A-1/2Lo-3S looked very good. He lost steam after his run thru but had some nice jumps at the end. 3A, that combo, solo 3A, 4T3T, 4T, 4S(2ft), 4S... earlier 3Lo and 3Lz and some doubles. And our boy had no falls

Thank you Krunchii for the video! He's looking good and I'm so in love with this program! He doesn't have to do the jumps for me to be happy with his skating, as I love the edge quality and the fantastic carriage movement along the ice. :love:

In reference to what Kuan was saying, I have found that marking the jumps takes more steam out of a skater than doing the jumps, at least that was my own personal experience. I always hated marking jumps. :laugh:

Skaters practice all kinds of jumps at practice and warm ups, for fun, for showing off, and even for intimidation. :) But they execute their planned programs at competitions, making adjustments if necessary on account of any earlier messed up jump. Any Zayaking is usually due to erroneous improvising adjustments, not planned, especially not by a veteran like Patrick.

I can see Patrick's flowing through his LP with his new jump layout, finishing with his big smile at the standing and applauding audience, with me being mesmerized once again. :yes2:
 
well.. i am watching Patrick's run through with marked jumps...

and I can confirm from his set up

4t -3t will be first

4s is second :)

This made my night! :) And I agree with Ic3rabbit "He doesn't have to do the jumps for me to be happy with his skating, as I love the edge quality and the fantastic carriage movement along the ice." Having seen this live at the Nats, I feel the same emotion watching this run through as I did then! :luv17:
