few little cents
standing ovation for Courtney - you brought it, girl! There is a sense of sophistication and refinement in her already, love kind of powerful outlook of her skating in general. She can interpret music well, with nice lines and decent edge work. The program is very nice and actually complimentary to her expression, way of movement - she showed today that when she's on, it's very effective. I love step sequence with the twizzle. Kudos for being her best self today and so impressive. It's not maybe 'wow' stuff, but a very classy and elegant stuff which always will find its audience.
Anna - I am glad that this was a clean routine, because it could go haywire if her foot would catch boards after -3T combo jump...This for me kind of proves that she's a fighter and this program could go places along with her - some upgrade in tech is needed (spins and steps especially), but I understand she's after injury/still with back pain; then to throw more Spanish accents, some choreo sparkle here and there - with fierce face it could be amazing vehicle and experience for people to see. I could see she was nervous, probably to get herself started this season for real and to start it in different way she finished the last one. For me, she succeeded - I hope this will get some amount of burden out of her back.
Kaetlyn was stellar, this program - the wholesome of performance - gives kind of cinematic experience: so lively, dynamic, with natural performing instead of forced acting. She lives and breathes with that music, this French aura of elegance and chic. She connects with the music, fills up the costume, the stage AND understands how powerful the performance should be, how to acommodate her umps and speed to make it work the magic. I love the easiness, effortless strenght she's moved with, all gestures, simple, yet effective expression - flirting with the audience, but leaving the work of charming to the whole performance created.
