Rippon attempted the 4Lz. Landed very forward but was only given < by the TP.

Scratch the 4Lz and replace it with 4S, and you're right on.

OMG, this was the best victory ceremony ever. I'm so happy for Sergei, winning his first grand prix gold at 30. Honestly, this podium was so refreshing. It's so good to see old guns on the podium.

I'm a die-hard Yuzu fan but by no means I like to think it wouldn't be like this had Yuzu competed. Of course it wouldn't but this is it and the podium finishers earned it. I'm so happy for them. Go all the way to GPF Sergei

I am perplexed myself. All due to them both for fantastic jumps. And Mikhail has emerging artistry. But for Sergei to surpass Adam Rippon in artistry at the NHK FS is ludicrous. Is there some course the ISF can give judges to teach them the difference between landing a jump and truly demonstrating excellent performance and expression?
