2017 GP Internationaux de France Ladies SP

Tracy mentioning hard and crunchy ice with no give, that doesn't give back and you see toe picks slipping on takeoffs and that we've seen many of them making many skaters look uncertain.

Also.. you wouldn't want to fall and have an injury especially 3 months out of the Olympics. I get the caution.

Maria has a new dress! Looks good. And Yuna Shiraiwa, well done. Uhm....that's all. :disapp:

what a wacky event. every time the skaters would jump on that one side of the ice, they would either fall or mess up in some way. must be cursed or something...lol.

move GP France somewhere else... seems like they cannot have good ice... last year was much worse though... but Kaetlyn skated like she couldn't trust her toe picks... only jump she felt okay with was the 2a... she was tentative like I have never seen her.... and before, Tukt and Lil Bet popped their lutz....

very strange...

Well, I can breath and type now. I'll tell you if ice was again a factor in these results, the ISU has got to pick a new host. It's an Olympic year, and no one wants skaters to get injured because of poor ice conditions. The skates today were off for everyone.

I think France has taken the title of cup of disaster from CoC. Or shall we call it Trophee de Folies officially?

Honestly, are the ladies freaking out at EVERY competition ? This one was a mess but not that much compared to every other from the GPs, just a bit more... (except China ?)
I know Evgenia made us wait for clean programs all the time but even she has falls at her last 2 GPs so...
Olympic season doing no good.

And for Kaetlyn, sometimes she messes up sometimes not. But she held in, that's cool.

VERY pleased that PCS are actually sometimes correct in terms of placement (Alina behind Mai and Elizaveta) even though I would have Alina a little bit less, but today even on the skating she wasn't good. She looked anxious while skating... :( Hope she can rebound, her SP seems to be her nemesis.

Wish mirai skated here...

I think it's best that she didn't. Probably would have had the same issues as everyone else, although if you are making the argument that the field is sort of wide open and she could have had a better chance to reach the podium, maybe. IDK.

I vote Spain.

Is this Tracy there? Has any of the skaters mentioned bad ice? During practice or competition? I mean, we've seen many bad comps this GP season. I think it much comes down to being an olympic season... nerves, working on programs to get the highest results, trying hard tech that they don't master and such.

It's too bad, but I agree. If it's an ice issue, they should have really prevented that. They have enough experience hosting these competitions.

I vote Spain.

This, or Finland/Korea.

Nice judging panel... 5/9 non Europeans for an event in Europe. See how it doesn't result in crazy PCS inflation? Keep it up ISU. Hope don't go all crazy by FS.
