2018 US Championships Sr Men SP

Nerves got him. Which is a shame, because all the things that didn't involve jumping are MUCH improved. But man the way he picked into that second jump, I thought, Metaphor For Digging A Hole For Yourself.

Well let's hope he loosens up for the FS. Because the components really are much improved.

It's funny you say that because every competition he's in they always mention how hard he works to be more artistic yet they never actually say its improved. It's always, "unfortunately without the jumps there's nothing else there" which basically means no artistry seen in the program :palmf:

Awwww, Peter Johansson and Mark Mitchell! Such beautiful men. I LOVED Mark Mitchell back in the 90’s. I just wish he had gotten his big chance. 4th at the 93 Worlds was nothing to sneeze at, but still.

Is it the Lifetime Achievement Awards? Glad they are doing it on the zamboni break again tonight and not on just a regular break between Groups 1 and 2.

I assume she is much older because she has a BIG booze cabinet for times like these.

I thought she is around Max's age, but hey i have nothing against young mothers, there's a few male skaters i want to adopt as well

i wonder myself if he is there. dick button, yes he is. i think he kept people watching by his commentary, and describing the jumps etc.

i think he was the last man to win 2 ogm . celebrating his anniversary,

congratulations dick button

Well, I think Max has improved, but maybe they mean his improvement in artistry still isn't enough to carry his performance when the technical side suffers so much.

I thought All by Mysellllfff was so sad when I was a lovelorn, errr, younger person. My demographic.

Kevin Shum goes to MIT, AFAIK, full time. Mad respect:bow:

Well you know, it's just my opinion, but I really DO see an improvement. It's a shame he's never given any credit for it.

But judges do like to put skaters into boxes. They just seem unable to take them out of them afterward.

So A Big Bronx Cheer for Judges.

Shum's Axel

The live scoring page now shows it as a double (but was indeed showing a triple when Johnny made the comment). And the live standings page was still showing the higher score, but now shows his corrected score. I don't know how this was playing in the rink, though.

Johnny was blaming it on the computer, but I'd think it was the technical caller's error.

I thought Max was totally perfect two years ago. Since then the programs have been really flimsy. [emoji53]
But I do love him.

Congrats Sir Dick Button... total legend...

Congratulations to your Uncle!

It was highly unprofessional for Tara and Johnny to talk about that judging error on air. They should’ve discreetly notified someone rather than bash the judging painful to millions of people.

I would call the judges for that kind of error
