2018 US Championships Sr Men FS

There is an app for IOS called icenetwork. I have no idea why they haven't got it for android yet. You don't have to be an icenetwork subscriber to listen (I am, but you don't have to be). You click on "radio" and select "listen at home" or if you are lucky enough to be in the arena "listen in the arena." They gave out free radios to listen to them at last year's Nationals, I don't know about this years because I didn't go. Anyway the team consists of Jimmie Santee and other commentators depending on the discipline. They also encourage you to ask questions by tweeting them at #pruskateradio. I always listen to them the first time around and then the second time I listen to the icenetwork commentary and the third time I listen to ask much of Tara's screeching as I can handle. Yes, I'm crazy. When I was at Worlds in 2016 I went back to the hotel and watched Gracies short over and over and over again. My bff was like "are you watching that again?" I said yes, it's SO GOOD. Anyway, there's also a podcast called "Ice Talk." It comes out once a week on Wednesdays, they interview all kinds of current and past skaters, and it's a lot more unfiltered than their usual conversations with the media.
Loved this post. I don't think you are crazy at all. It sounds like a sensible way to be a well informed skating fan ;). Unfortunately, I do not have Apple devices yet. I lost a Samsung tablet a couple of years ago somewhere between the doctors office and the pharmacy when I was sick. I brought it with me because I did not want to miss European Championships ice dance event. Since then I am only allowing myself budget electronics until I prove I will not foolishly lose or break them. Thank you very much for this info :thank:. It sounds like a great program.

The whole body of work concept really hurts the chances for Cinderella stories. It’s a huge appeal in many other sports and especially in growing new fans. People eat that stuff up. Don’t they trust the judging and results at the National championship? Never really understood it myself.

I’m curious which other sports do this now...hmm?

I think the big issue was making it all about nationals in the first place. Other countries use BOW, with nationals as just a step to the olympics.

I agree, though.

You can listen to the podcasts on a regular computer, I THINK. Google ice talk:)

How is one medal at Nationals in a higher tier than multiple medals at International competitions and making the GPf?

How was Polina's silver medal at her first senior competition better than Mirai's bronze and her bronze medal at the Grand Prix. Nationals silver counts for a lot. Making the Grand Prix final alone counts for nothing.

Polina was new and Ross isn't, so I think that's the difference.

Coaching issue? With both him and Karen having Tammy Gambill?
Not to be controversial but could those under rotation calls have been used to help the skaters that were coming after him. Because as it was said before it was not counted on for Ross minor to have such a good skate

I disagree that you earn it with one skate out of nowhere. The selection process is supposed to include the body of work, which Ross Miner does not have.

Ross Miner has been a great skater since 2011 and delivered many times.

Possibly, if it weren’t already a recurring issue. Both Vincent and Karen get deducted often, in both domestic and international competitions. Thus, the judging panels didn’t turn a blind eye to them.

I also wonder how much Junior worlds would help out Vincent because I think he won Junior worlds. Just as Karen being 4th at World's helped her
