2018 Olympic Figure Skating Team Event Day 1

Patrick Chan

Let's just leave this performance in the wind, shall we?

Fall on the 4T, had a lean on the takeoff edge. Rough lean on the 3Lz so only a 2T on the combo. Beautifully strong camel spin. Hard fall on the 3A. Gorgeous Level 4 step sequence with sweeping, curving edges.

Sad to see Chan have such a rough skate. I was really hoping that he got at least one clean skate at an Olympics. This might hurt Team Canada's chances at the gold, though. At least this was at the Team event and not at the individual event, but his jumps really went wrong today. :( :( :(

self prophesying material or what... PCS 100+, -10 for a disaster + 2 for being Patrick Chan - 2 for Canadian... ie/not a Russian penalty.

Go Israel... love him to do well here.!!!

I wonder what kind of deal was made behind the scenes to not have Boyang Jin skate the Team Event. It favors Canada and Russia, creating less of a gap between their Men and Nathan Chen, or between their Men and whoever else skates better, in the case that their inconsistent Men fail to deliver (as Patrick Chan just failed to do).

Yikes, shaky skate with 2 falls and no 3-3. Will it cost Canada its gold chances?

SP: 38.56+45.10-2.00 = 81.66, 1/6

Ok, the score is not super terrible... I mean everyone else here could pass it but they way things are going there'll be more splats yet.

where is prerotation police when patrick skates? he prerotates just as much as satoko

45 PCs for 2 falls.
Where are all the people who complain about high PCs despite mistakes.
Please come and tell me those falls were not disruptive at all

Um, how was that an 81.66 level performance? How was that 4pts better than Rizzo and Cha?
