Um, I think some are taking the praise of T/M's short overboard. It's only good by comparison to their free.

And don't even start with no Russian pairs stuff. I've seen many Russian pairs pull off classical with emotion, style, and gorgeousness. M/D or B/S would have killed that program and brought us to our feet.

She honestly didn't even look mad at him. Just very disappointed. But, he looked equally upset.

I'm not sure you can even argue for higher pcs for T/M over D/R. The music and choreo is way better to begin with and they actually seem interested in interpreting the music. Definitely ss to T/M, but the rest...this isn't the aesthetically pleasing back and lines score, it's the program component scores.

Music wise, Rachmaninoff is definitely better than D/R's music. Candyman, however, is probably the worst program in figure skating this year. D/R had much more emotion than T/M, who apart from the elements, don't look familiar with each other at all. In terms of lines, actually T/M have beautiful lines, and so does Eric. But Megan's lines, especially next to Eric, is just not there and is very noticeable because he is so, so elegant.

On a slightly different note, I'm really glad to see so many people tuning in to watch and commenting on the Pairs' competition. I know it's because it's the Olympics, but the Pairs event has been really lagging behind in popularity (along with Ice Dance) when compared to the Ladies and the Men. And it is suuuuuuuuch a great discipline :luv17: It was really lovely reading everyone's comments

I mean there's a reason that this sport is made up of folks who have crazy game faces and will cut their partner if they screw up and gentle giants. Three guesses which group is the partner that gets thrown who knows how high, who knows how far and held up very high by not much at all.

Judge from a former Soviet country? Anyway, enough is enough. This short program for T/M is quite lovely. Their elements are great! If only the same could be said for their long program, I would be fine with them winning.

Aww.. I so badly want S/M to win (or get higher than bronze) especially for Aliona. I really hope they can pull off a FS as good/better than their WR one at the GP final. In my opinion the 6 point gap and the PCS for the top two teams was a bit outrageously high. The technical parts were flawless but the judges really need to calm down these games.
