Sorry to be late. I still have a hard time to come back!

About Shoma's schedule, shoma goes back to Japan on 19th and practice for Worlds and come back to Korea again (for exhibition).

Shoma just has kept surprising me. I love to watch Olympics and sports since I was a child and know so many athletes, but Shoma is totally out of my understanding!

What's certain is his biggest enemy is sleepiness. He was almost to close his eyes during his interview at Japan Olympic house and caused smile and laugh of the people there (video : https://www.asahi.com/articles/ASL2L3C21L2LUEHF002.html)
He is so funny. The question is whom he wants to hung the medal, but his reply is he has no one. He doesnt think he wants to treat it carefully and says please touch this when you want to do so. He will entrust his family with the way to preserve.

And he had to appear around TV shows and have a medal ceremony...

https://twitter.com/rhymelight49/status/964736849104158721 (a part of interview right after the competition)
At the interview right after the competition, shoma was said he would have the medal ceremony and he replied back "Is there a medal ceremony from now?" He didnt know the schedule! His way of speaking is so adorable.
And he watched all the performances of final group, he was calm and calculated scores and knew if he would skate clean, he could get 1st.
But he failed at the first loop, and laugh popped out suddenly and he thought, "Do my best" "Concentrate on myself". Since then, he got settled. Anyway, he stayed calm, so he could hear cheer voices and so on very well.
His body fatigued and couldnt move well, but he had practised in that situation, so he could do as he had practised.
He is satisfied with his performance although it was not perfect. He could do what he could do at that time.

he is so funny. Where was the tension of Olympics final group which overwhelm skaters? Usually skaters get so nervous and try to heighten concentration and avoid the influence of others. But he watched the previous performances in detail.
In another interview, he says its his custom since he started competing in big world competitions (when he turned senior?). The reason is simply watching performances is spectacle and to kill time!!!

He had no special attachment to Olympics till the end. For him, Olympics is just one of his competitions and his eyes are towards Worlds. He watched Yuzu and Javi's performances this time and realized what he lacked (the hight of jumps), so he want to improve for Worlds.

He says "I looked hanyu sensyu (his joy, his tears, right after the competition) thinking "For hanyu sensyu, Olympics must be a special competition. But I had no special feelings with Olympics. "

But he seems to realize it is Olympic as he appeared TV shows and interviews one after another. He took Silver at last Worlds, but the impact of Olympics is totally different from Worlds.

So many lovely and funny statements and behaviours captured Japanese girls hearts in one day. Skate fans knew his characters, but others didnt. But media exposure of Olympics is totally different from other competitions and he gets to be known nationwide.

At a medal ceremony, his outfit was too big (It's Keiji's?)

About medal ceremony, he says he thought it would be much smaller, but the reality it was big and he was so surprised. (Provably his image was small medal ceremony)
And about his coach and family coming, they didnt come to medal ceremony usually, and he imagined they must be pleased to such an extent. (His surroundings reaction is pretty normal considering it is Olympics, but he didnt realize it!).

And his family didn't contact him since his silver because he usually doesn't respond..

About Olympics, he had more fun time than his life in Japan, since he could have more time for games (Provably its because practice time is limited in Olympics and have no school.) and he could spend "lazy" life.

This article corrects big access. (because of their strong siblings tie and their attractions, I think)

ITsuki is 16 years old and they live together leaving home.

Until his high school days, Itsuki always followed Shoma at competitions. He was beside shoma until he worn costumes and did warmup together. Their routine was to play catch ball at arena lobby or soccer. Shoma made fun of itsuki tossing a ball to itsuki or so and could get relaxed.

Now itsuki sometimes goes to his overseas competitions together. In abroad he can take more time than in Japan, and itsuki is a precious playmate. Itsuki goes to International school, so he sometimes performs as a translator. Itshuki says he can understand what shoma is thinking even if they dont have communication. They rarely talk about skate. Shoma says he can get settled when he was with Itsuki.

Since itsuki's childhood, Shoma took care of him very much. He is 4 years older than itsuki, and he got the new born baby itsuki to take bath and cradle. When itsuki had knee surgery two years ago, shoma sat by his bed.

Their characteristics are totally opposite. Shoma is shy and itsuki is sociable and a student council member. He got into ice hockey at the same skate rink. Now he plays field hockey and does model.

Itsuki watched short program on 16th. He says what he cant beat shoma about is hard work. He has so much hate to lose spirit, and practices a lot when he is defeated. he knows shoma coming home totally exhausted after practice. He boasts his older brother.

Eta: OMG, now this article was already shared. I didnt notice. But I leave this here!

I didn't really follow the men's skating, but I turned by a chance to the short program.... and I was mesmerized by this guy.

Shoma has been congratulated by Vainglory, the game Shoma is addicted to. Apparently he has a very very good level at it (silver) and it is very difficult.

Maybe an endorsement coming soon?

He was also asked what his favourite anime series were and he said Steins;Gate and Charlotte. Those are kind fantasy animes with time travel theme. Just like Kimi no na wa ! ahah https://www.instagram.com/p/BfTbFn5FGtp/?tagged=unoshoma (his voice is so nice)

I have been watching so manu clips of Shoma falling asleep in interviews that's so funny but he really must be so exhausted. Poor boy.

Here is Daichan reacting to Shoma's silver : https://twitter.com/wElcOmeD8376/status/965239557049298944 crying a little bit!

Proud uncle Dai :) He's such a fan boy :)

I don't know anybody else who could have their greatest rival reveal to everyone that he thought of him like "a stray dog" ("He's not a pet, he does have freedom") and not be the least bit offended. Shoma's personality seems more fit for surfing than skating!

He and Yuzuru are very funny to watch, but I look forward to the day when the "dog" finally becomes the master.

Small correction, the word is 'wanko' so more puppy than stray (stray is 'nora'). But the whole interview was so funny. They had to do rounds of interviews with all the main news outlets in the morning, and Shoma is not a morning person so he was sleepy throughout. I thought they made a very cute duo together at all of the interviews, such a good contrast to each other.
And congratulations Shoma on winning silver. Skating last is a terrible pressure on any skater, and it has caused so many to choke and bomb...but Shoma was magnificent. :points:

I must admit that I felt a bit off about it when I first heard it, but seeing the video and reading the full translation, it seemed Yuzuru was emphasizing that he found Shoma very cute, like a puppy. The whole "He's like my, well, not like my pet since he's free..." came as a botched overexplanation of the puppy thing, Yuzuru being the spontaneous interviewee that he is. He immediately followed up with how he's seen Shoma grow up and knows how hard he works, so that he's happy Shoma did well. This shows his respect for Shoma.

I think Yuzuru highly respects Shoma as his competitor, especially after last Worlds. However, he can't help but continue to find Shoma cute like he's done in the many years they've known each other.

Although we know Shoma prefers "cool" to "cute" these days, I think he's fine with it. He was asked how he felt when Yuzuru patted his head during the stuffed toy ceremony (I don't know what to call it), and he said he's grateful since Yuzuru has looked out for him for some time now.

We need more months in the cat calendar.

By the way, there's so much content and interviews out there, even just reading the translations takes time. A lot of it is on the shoma-uno Tumblr account and yawning_shoma and akari (cantilover's) twitter. I'm sure the Japanese fans are even more overwhelmed. Have to laugh at Shoma being asked how his life will change after this, and he said nothing will change- he'll still practice at the rink then go home. Oh dear. Is he in for more shock...

Shoma makes me feel a little better about myself. I see all these all these social media posts like OMG! I AM CRYING! LOOK AT MY TEARS!!! and I'm like "…okayyy…" I enjoy skating, but nothing ever moves me to that extent.

Yes, Im totally overwhelmed and exhausted by the flood of information. I want to share information about shoma and keiji in their threads, but one after another information comes and my university starts this week...

His life may a bit change (He will get more attention and is expected to get CM offer..), but his character wont. He is the type of person who just keep doing what he should do. Today he's back to Japan and will start practice from tomorrow.

I think this short interview is nice.
He says he realizes how hard the Olympic medallist is for suffering from sleep shortage.
And about watching other skaters performances, he watches all the skaters while waiting since it is simply fun to watch and he wants to kill time till his order.

And the last question, whom the person he wants to show his gratitude most is his mother. He was not the type of person who was strict to himself, so he feels grateful to his mom who was strict to him. :)

Final question, what do you want to do most? The answer is to sleep!
