Perhaps the jumps disappear, but you don't get them out of nowhere. She does do the hardest triple-triple combination though.
And you don't learn them out of nowhere, I don't disagree with that. They're still hard, but my point is that they're considerably easier to do when you're younger and as your body changes as you get older you have to relearn your balance and etc and perhaps the jumps disappear.
What I was trying to say that we probably have zero clue who the next podium winners are. It'll likely be some 15 year old that comes out of nowhere like 1 season before 2022.
Can someone who watched Russian feed confirm that, but apparently TAT started crying during Medvedeva's performance and said she wanted Med to win and then apologised to Alina? Damn.
I'm just... heartbroken...
I was expecting this results, but with some errors from Evgenia, something that could justify this...

Perhaps the jumps disappear, but you don't get them out of nowhere.
Well, I guess someone like Mirai Nagasu is the exception(Though it's 3A in her case), but for quads and jumps in general, if you don't learn them well before puberty you're not going to be able to do them post-puberty either.
She does do the hardest triple-triple combination though.
- https://youtu.be/Io85jm-e4bI?t=52sHAHA LET THAT SINK IN... 156.65!!I just realized....Both Alina and Evgenia got 156.65 for their FS

Okay, I get that Alina is just using the system to her advantage and there's nothing inherently immoral about that. Congratulations on her win.
But I don't know how you could look at this event and not see what a sad twist ladies' figure skating has taken. Both Alina and Evgenia have cluttered programs and less than perfect artistry, but Evgenia is clearly the more musical skater and she lost to Alina's program which honestly, is void of any artistic integrity.
Also, let's talk about how this isn't happening to the same absurdity in the other events. The podiums for the men, pairs, and ice dance were so well balanced: artistic and so exciting technically.
Man 3 really great individual events with some superb endings in each.. this one just made everyone cry
"I did absolutely everything I could."
-Zhenya to Eteri
I'm just. I'm just so mad. I'm so mad because you're world champion for two years and you miss one competition, and you're finished. You work on artistry, and they hand the same PCS to someone fresh out of juniors. It's infuriating. It's painful. It's sad.
IJS might have helped push the tech, but it's also stifled art.
I'm heartbroken. But I'm also furious.
If only Alina got 73 in pcs, Evgenia would have won.
I really don't understand judge fetish with young girls in ladies skating, they are willing to go with veteran in other discipline but in ladies they always prefer younger fresher girls: Tara, Sarah, Adelina......
I didn't think I'd be so depressed over Med losing but here we are. At least I have Savchenko/Massot, Virtue/Moir, and Yuzuru.... But yeah. What a depressing ending.
