Her coach wasn't happy at all when she came off ice.

"Well that was crap." "Of course it was.Since you went off the rails there..:"

It's not that unusual, many girls get the triple loop as their triple first, for example. Sometimes it's about getting the body comfortable with the extra rotation and going back to an "easier" triple is sometimes easier after learning a "harder" triple. My first triple was a lutz (though I'm not a competitor, and never intended to be, I just did this for fun as a kid) and my 3T came fine later. Looking at her other technique, she probably has a very bad toe-axel on her 3T and in attempts to try to correct it she probably lost the jump entirely. I've seen kids go from doing triple toe-axels (under-rotated of course since they can't get the pick support), and then relearning and being unable to even do a correct single for awhile.

In case anyone cares, I went back and watched old videos of Emmy Ma. She's had a bad toe-axel on her double toes since she was a kid competing at US nationals in intermediates. I'm 100% sure this is why she doesn't have a 3T yet.

Right. Zhenya's jumps regularly get +2 or +3 GOEs from judges for their amazing height and flow and effortlessness, and all that good stuff.
I can't explain the Lutz, but when it comes to +2:
difficult entry
steps before element
varied position(tano)
creative exit

That already is +2 GOE and she pretty much hits that by definition, regardless of the actual jump's quality.

Wow, Beccari is still the only skater to have scored over 100 points in the free. That's pretty increadible.

So do you wanna tell us that you can have ugly jumps , muscled , with ugly tano, but with easy steps before ,on not deep edges at all, flat and you have +2 / They have ot change that

(*$^# CBC thinks that a zamboni break means the program is over, AGAIN. Does someone who has twitter wanna @ them for me?
