They definitely didn't knock it out of the park. The throw was 2 footed and shaky and I was surprised they went into the lead, although the scores are extremely close.

It wasn't clearly either of those things and the highest ranked pairs make those mistakes all the time and GOE is ++++++

Pairs like Italians, Austrians, S/B under marked constantly compared to those teams.

I Can't Dance was playing in warm up? Ok, I'd kinda liked to have see Kovtun skate out onto the ice and dance around in between all the pair.

Last group - this started while I was working and it's now into the evening. I feel like I've been watching skating forever. Even as a pairs uber, and with high quality throughout the field, it's been long. But James/Cipres are closing out the SP skates and I refuse to miss that.

This is basically true but nothing is 100% guaranteed. C/L are more long-term and beloved than either Italian pairs team, it'll be their last performance (probably), etc. I expect Carolina-level inflation, but less deserved.

They were already inflated to a World title, so I can't wait to see this.
