2018 Worlds Ladies FS

1hr and 10 min to start the last event of ladies figure skating of the season. I cannot think of living without figure skating for the next months.

This starts the exact minute I have to be in my evil teacher's class, and it will probably end before I am released

Good news, you don't have to - summer ice shows! All the fun of competition with none of the anxiety-inducing drama!

I know a tweet was put up, but here is official ISU release:

Dabin Choi (KOR) has withdrawn from the Ladies Free Skating at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2018 on Friday before the morning practice citing equipment failure. Her right skating boot is broken.

“The boot was already weak when I got here and I have been taping it. But it finally gave way on the first practice on Monday. In the short program, I felt the boot gave no support and I am afraid risking injury,” Choi said.

I've already asked in the thread about Dabin withdrawing but can Hanul save two spots?

Not a chance unless everyone after Hanul have a major meltdown.

Sucks for Dabin but it's better that she prioritizes herself first. I'm bummed that SK will be back to having 1 spot but an athlete's safety should remain first.

World Feed is now on air (although the stream on the Eurosport Player is still showing the blue screen).

Aw well. Better luck next year.

I doubt she'll manage that, unfortunately. I'm still rooting for her to, though!
I hope Korean ladies will have their 2 spots in the upcoming years (or even 3!!), since there's some real potential emerging.
