Tbh, I'm quite sad for Shoma winning 4 major Silvers this season, I'd be pissed

Pissed/sad? He should be happy about the generous last two Silvers he won. The Silver at Pyeongchang should've definitely been Javier's, and today's Silver should've gone to Kolyada.

Having sat through this at the arena in Milano, it was a f@$#ng disgrace!!!! A DISGRACE!!!! The falls! OMG I'm still in a state of complete shock... But also the winning FS, which had absolutely nothing but jumps. And was sloooooow. This whole thing isn't figure skating. If the ISU doesn't limit the number of quads in max. 2-3, nobody will bother to watch. I'm seriously considering that after 30 years...

hmm... Maybe go for the food? I don't know.. I don't gamble and I don't really like vegasy shows. I like museums and art galleries and castles. I'm better suited to Europe. And I want to walk on the great wall before I die. Cliche I know.

Because the TES was higher. Yuzuru had 123, Nathan 128. Obviously Nathan didn't have the same PCS as Yuzuru, and got scored quite generously.

I think it says a lot Nathan had two quads more but only 5 points more in TES.

Actually for 2017 H&L his TES was 126.12. Even more impressive that 2 extra quads add only 1.5 points. Quality over quantity

You said he improved "the free program" in your post. I disagree. His jumps are not improving either, the landings are just as scratchy - but since nobody even landed tonight, the jumps have more GOEs. If you had said he improved his mental strength I would've thumbs-upped

its fine, i don't really need you to thumbs-up anything haha. this is just some internet forum, not like we get recognition and validation off having posts with thumbs up. we're just sharing opinions since none of us can change anything. i don't mean his jumps have improved super drastically technique wise and is now some king of quad jumping or such, i said he improved in his free program, given what we just saw in group 4. so many meltdowns and failed jumps, sure nathan could have better quad techniques but if he didn't improve anything at all he could have done what he did at the olympics short program, which is just meltdown after meltdown too. the fact he didn't have his famous meltdown when doing jumps is pretty good improvement for me, not like i think he's the best quad jumper ever. group 4 pretty much bombed, but as the last skater he didn't repeat what happened to him in olympics, so i think he's improved since the olympics. again, personal opinion. i'm not trying to convince you or anything - this thread is just having a discussion. but if you think he's on the same level he was at olympics (which couldn't be since he didn't bomb his short program this time), it's up to you. i'm not even a nathan fan (i wanted boyang to win) but i'm just glad he got over his mental breakdown from the olympics. if he can use this experience to improve himself even more mentally (and work on a nicer program next season) it would be great.

It happened at junior Worlds this year. Matteo was 6th in both segments but sneaked in to win the Bronze.

I can't believe Boyang got -9 deduction because he was too relaxed going into this competition. I want to give him a kick in his butt and a hug at the same time.

Was Shoma's 4Lo fully rotated or UR and not called? I was watching a choppy stream on my laptop, and I couldn't really tell.

I'll watch some of this again when it's on TV later since my mother hasn't seen any of it yet. She's not one to wake up early to watch skating, like me, so she has no idea about the splatfest to come.:scard8: I'm debating about whether or not I should warn her ahead of time. Usually, she doesn't like being spoiled for sporting events. (I speak from experience here, my mother had left the room to not see results from Nagano, and I spoiled the results for Tara and Michelle before it aired.) :think:

Shoma Uno is just not a good competitor and is not skating good under pressure (unless Yuzuru is there an taking all the pressure from him). He had the chance to win the GPF in his hometown, but nope.... He had the chance to win worlds in such a weak field, but nope... I'm afraid Yuzuru won't be allowed to retire (one day) :shame:

Will not be allowed to retire? What is this craziness. Japan does not have to be first all the time. Patrick Chan dominated sport before Yuzu.

A big congratulations to Nathan Chen for successfully putting his Olympic demons to rest, battling a sore foot, skating last and in 1st place, and still able to avoid the splat virus to become WORLD CHAMP. He skated like a champ.

I know that he still has to develop a better form of artistry, but he is still a teenager and has gotten better. His trajectory is good enough for me.

i was really sad and worried that boyang was sick or injured, but now knowing he's okay and in fact was too relaxed makes me feel much better i hope he isn't hurt from any of his falls. anticipating his programs in the future, there's always future competitions to look forward too :hap93:
