It's nitpicking because some people can't stand that Nathan won. He still would have won no matter what score he received in skating skills.

That's not the problem, it seems like the technical contents seem too hard to respect for each skater lol : you cannot be at the top of artistry and at the top of jumps; Look at what kind of spectacle we've got : a lot of failed jump: that's really unpleasant to see. And Chen, he might be the best jumper but his artistic score is overrated.

I don't care what anyone says. I am very proud of Shona. He came into this event injured and did his best to ensure Japan kept their spots. Today he didn't go in to win, he was in fifth and in no shape to really compete at his best. I'm proud that he fought to the end.

In the end that is all you can ask of someone... to give it their all, win or loose... that's what define a champion...

I was just asking. Personally I didn't notice anything, but the only competition I ever went live the speed differences were noticeable. I'm not sure why you feel the need the make fun of me.

And you are right, Terpshichores. Speeds are different and they also appear different on TV than live. I was amazed at how fast the skaters fly across the ice when they appear to be slow on tv. I left St Louis and Cleveland US champs after watching live, then watch the repeat performances on local TVs right after I got back to our hotel in 2006 and a friend's house in 2009. The way I saw things were not equal. Additionally, you really can't pull of quad jumps if you are skating slowly into them, at least that's what I've been told by some skaters, so if skaters were really hitting quads, how could they be skating slowly?

If you go back and read my messages, you'll realize that I wasn't contesting his win. I said he was unworthy of his scores because his skating is lacking in many areas. That's not the same as saying "he doesn't deserve to win."

Pissed/sad? He should be happy about the generous last two Silvers he won. The Silver at Pyeongchang should've definitely been Javier's, and today's Silver should've gone to Kolyada.

I forgot to add that if URs had been called properly at GPF, Shoma would've gotten Bronze. So yeah, he should be happy about being given 3 generous Silvers.

Shoma Uno is just not a good competitor and is not skating good under pressure (unless Yuzuru is there an taking all the pressure from him). He had the chance to win the GPF in his hometown, but nope.... He had the chance to win worlds in such a weak field, but nope... I'm afraid Yuzuru won't be allowed to retire (one day) :shame:

Oh no not just the PCS, Nathan's GOEs are worth complaining about too. Look, if this is the 6.0 system and Nathan did by far the best of the night nobody would have said anything. But this is the IJS, the supposedly objective system that doesn't matter what competition you are in. A 9 in SS is supposed to mean the same thing across competition. So people have the right to complain when Nathan's scores or Shoma's scores do not match the standard of the 9s/8s seen in the last few years.

And nobody is mad Nathan win for god's sake. Of course he deserves the win.

I think the presentation score should be more relevant in the global score and that would make a difference cause this is FIGURE skating...

Shoma went from bronze king to silver king I need him to upgrade to gold king next season.

He reminds me of Sasha Cohen. Always on the shadow, never winning. Hope that change next season or seasons to come.

Yes, this mexican guy is incredible : he has so much energy on the ice : he should progress , I do hope so cause I want to see him again.

I want to congratulate Nathan for his great performance today He was able to keep his mind and body together and one despite other guys failing as sad as that was. This is a closing to a general great season for him!! GPF champion and world champion and says a lot about the great future he has.
I also want to congratulate Shoma for his courage shown tonight, even if we all would wish he didn't have to compete injured or injured at all. What a fighter he is and also a great champion. He can rest now after a great season as well for him.
Also a special mention to Donovan, as a mexican is always a pleasure and a rare one to see my country represented, and he always is a joy to watch, congrats!.
