The falls didn't really affect Shoma's nicely-done SS and TN. Nathan barely has an edge, and has crossovers for transitions (gotta wonder what Wagner has to say about champions not suppose to be full of crossovers now
). So while Shoma's PCS should definitely be lower in performance and interpretation, I can somewhat see why the judges still gave him SS and TN as high as they were. OTOH, I can't justify any of Nathan's PCS ...... aside from having high TES and being from USFS that is.

I am very happy for Nathan and his win. I imagine he feels redemption. The thing that bothers me is at the Olympics the media crucified him after his short. Here was a young inexperienced skater at his first Olympics and he had a meltdown in his SP . It must have really made him feel down. Why can the Media at least the US media support a skater when they have a bad day. Now he has won world's he is the King according to them. I hope now he knows what to expect from them when you win you are poster boy when you do not perform you are nothing. I hope from his experience with his own media that in the future if he has a bad day he will know what to expect from them and learn to let it roll off his back. He is King of the Skating World to-day and I hope he enjoys every moment. He has earned it.

omg, I am just waking up and reading Boyang had 6 falls, how? 6 falls?

Maybe he's the Alina of men's lmao. I shouldn't laugh, it's not really funny it's more sad. But so much so that it's kinda of comical...
There is no pewter medal at Worlds. It is a US thing.

We can't know but good for you if you think that Hanyu is at his peak yet and that Chen will still land 6 quads or more at 22yo.

Just read interview with Michal Březina and he truly is continuing his career, probably not until 2022 but he's not retiring, and that Rafael wants to add his quad Toe back! And that his wife wasn't really happy when he decided to continue but after today it might be worth it. 
I think Hanyu fell 5 times, same as Boyang, he get -5 but probably because was before they change the rules.
I still don't understand what happened to Boyang anyway

As well as the 3A - his nemesis of all time.
I'm talking about the japanese men's future in figure skating. After Shoma's olympic interviews (where he said he felt nothing, like, nothing special about the olys) i realised that he doesn't want it that much- the winning. That's why he is not winning things, he just doesn't want it that much

Me! I think he has loads of potential. Gotta love a skater who cares as much about artistry as about technique.

... aside from having high TES and being from USFS that is.
I always think Nathan's quads are not just TES, but they are part of the choreography and to execute the quads
the way he did here requires good skating skills. Anyway I'm glad the judges here gave him the PCS I think he deserves when compared to other skaters'.
I can't read all the comments, I'm too much tired, were 6 am here when the WC start and I can't sleep now I'm too confused I guess.
I saw a lot of comments about clean performance... I personally like clean performance but if the program is difficult it is more hard to achieve clean, and more demanding for the skater, but at the same time, and is my opinion, use to be nice to see it, even if the skater fall in one jump.
So I like skaters who try new difficult things. I like expressive choreography too, which means if the technical part is perfect but the skater looks to be just going from one jump to another I rather want him to fall trying to give some more.
(sorry if you see some mistake, my first language is not english)
