Medvedeva leaving Eteri

But... But Zagitova used to Flutz before moving to Eteri. And under Eteri, she now does not Flutz. On the other hand, Medvedeva's Flutz is as bad as ever. Is it the coach?

If people expect the Flutz to magically disappear by moving to Orser... what to say? It probably will not.

Seems to me Eteri got better and better with every student and improved her technique. And yep, Zhenya's flutz will not dissapear but doesn't hurt to try, right?

Eteri's track record already speaks for itself. Lipniskaia, Sakhanovich, and now Medvedeva, whom some people would've bet their entire bank accounts wouldn't have separated from Eteri.
Sakhanovich... According to Eteri, she really didn't want to leave Eteri but had to due to her living situation and issues with living in two cities.

Evgenia was able to sugar coat the treatment before and spin her coach’s behavior as acceptable because she was winning. The suffering was just what was needed to win.

I wonder if that's what parents tell themselves when they send their kids to Eteri? Like this is not the first time this has happened (Eteri's behavior) and surely they don't live under a rock.

There were rumors about Evgenia leaving immediately after the Olympics. But she denied them, so the Federation.

About Eteri being upset at Brian Orser, I don’t think it started just from how he didn’t compliment Trusova’s quads. Remember how Elizabet Tursynbaeva temporarily returned to Eteri before 4CC 2017? Eteri made her obsessed with rippons and then Elizabet proceeded to have a disastrous skate because of them at 4CC, which thus made Brian heavily criticize Eteri’s tactics (right away in the Kiss&Cry). And then he had Elizabet ditch the rippons immediately.

There were those two instances, and now with the rumours of Evgenia going to Brian, that’s probably making Eteri believe he’s “declaring war”. The way she’s taking these coaching relationships as competitive games is really sickening. This is a really immature attitude she’s showing as a coach.

I am also a bit confused why he would take on all that drama with Russia, granted we still don't know yet....but perhaps BOrser is thinking of his own future. I don't think Yuzuru will skate forever, and perhaps he needs a champion skater to concentrate on soon.

Not true. Brian Orser did not take on the drama. It was an interview with several coaches about the minimum age for skating in the senior setting: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2018/04/30/274122364/should-the-minimum-age-for-seniors-be-raised

To be honest, Zhenya probably thinks the coach is the reason why she failed to win the OGM which is why she thinks switching to Orser will 'magically' permit her to win going forward when in reality.....

We get it, you don't like Evgenia.

She's right to change the coach, though. She's damn right Eteri won't bring her to the next Olympics. Will she be able to do it with Orser? That remains to be seen, but Eteri, as good as she is with very young skaters, works only for very young skaters. And while Evgenia's becoming a young woman, Eteri's already starting to prepare girls to storm the next Olympics and it's not even the current crop of juniors. Recently she's taken on three girls who'll be the perfect age of 15 for the 2022 Olympics (what a coincidence). And of course Evgenia sees it and knows what it means. And I'm not demonizing Eteri: She has a formula that works, so why not use it? But if Evgenia knows that this formula won't work for her going forward, why stick around?

Who would know, two whole Olympics cycles later, BOrser would again got himself stuck in coaching change drama :drama:

I did a walk down memory lane and the Kim-Orser thread has 88 pages. We can outdo this everyone! :hap10:

The basics coaching they get improves... And as their basics are better, they're easier to teach as well. The younger her students become, the less serious issues they seem to have.

Flutz for instance. When watching Russian skaters who are 7-10 years old or thereabouts, very few top skaters flutz. The number is really low. Actually, now that even Kostyleva seems to have fixed her flutz in the last competition, I can't even think of anyone. And many of them have correct edges on both Lutz and Flip.

Rumors about Med leaving Eteri has been around for more than a month. Eteri group already deleted Med’s links. No way they haven’t known.

We get it, you don't like Evgenia.

I agree with everything you said. Zhenya is free to choose her own coach going forward, but she should have informed her coach beforehand so that this entire fiasco could have been avoided.

All of them have something in common: they failed to reach their potential and are trying to shift the blame on someone else by acting as the victim, showing no gratitude towards their coach. I don't see Alina making these sort of comments about Eteri. I wonder why?

I can't speak to Sakhanovich, but from everything that's been translated (I don't speak Russian) Yulia has never publicly bashed or claimed Eteri was at fault for her 'not reaching her potential'. The only person I've seen making comments to paint them as being the victim is Eteri.

Lol. Erm, maybe because Alina has like nothing to do with it??? It‘s Eteri dragging Alina into all this. And also Lol at how Med failed to reach her potential. She was like what Olympic Silver Medalist about two months ago? If that‘s fialing to reach one‘s potential many many skaters would be lost cases and should rather retire for good.

You know what's funny to me? Eteri wanted to coach Yuzuru... But now it's (probably) Orser who will coach her former student :drama:
Hanyu and Eteri might have killed each other from day one. She doesn’t get that Hanyu is the type of skater who would do things as he wants and he has the strongest desire to do things he wants lol. Borser’s reduction of hair is the evidence.

Yea, she's very good with pupils up until 16-17 yers old. And female. But then, and with males, she’s very bad.

Tbh, what Eteri is doing is such an obvious attempt at discrediting Zhenya and saving her own face it is laughable.

Up until a couple months ago Zhenya was "her best student" "the most mature" "an example to all the others" "like a daughter to me" "a piece of my soul" - and now we're supposed to believe she's a childish, spoiled brat? Come onnnnn

So what's the difference with Medvedeva's "Eteri's the best", "She's like my second mother", "I love Russia", etc? It's just normal for ambitious people (with hidden grievances).

Damn, this is better than any soap opera:laugh:

Medvedeva leaving Eteri because she trained another girl who can beat her....

Eteri "bashing" Medvedeva on TV....

Medvedeva throwing shade on twitter....

I'm waiting for the next thing:popcorn:

I had a peek at the archive for the time Yuzu went across to him, and it wasn't on the same level but wasn't all that calmly received either...
