She couldn't do the 3T on the first 3A, the landing wasn't perfect. So she put a 2T on the second 3A. :biggrin:
She's so amazing!
The rest of the program was kind of messy though. :laugh:
I'm worried about her FSSp, she used do only SitSp and always get lvl 4 now she's struggling with the lvl on the FSSp.
Also, the StSq of the SP looked a bit off the music, probably because they slightly changed the 3Lz time to fit in the second half.
David Wilson, why do you do this to us? :palmf:

Lmao the other day i dreamt that she messed both her 3As and decided to yolo a 4T as the last jump of her free skate instead of the 3S and landed it perfectly then cried :laugh2:

Rika has so much chaotic energy, i feel like it's hard to contain it all in that tiny body :laugh2: i'm proud of how she recovered with that triple jump combo in the FS after missing it first. Just a few days before i start stressing out for NHK. So far i'm pretty calm, i don't know why

I can already imagine Rika at NHK missing the combo in the first 3A so she adds the 3T to the second 3A instead, than she can’t put the 2T+2Lo in the 3Lz so she goes for it with the 3S... And then I’ll be found dead. [emoji23] LMAO

Also, I found out what they did to her SP to finally properly fit the 3Lz in the second half and I have to say I’m kind of angry. I cannot understand how they didn’t realise the jumping pass was NOT in the second half when obviously it was always supposed to be so. Now they had to tweak the program and everything seems off. The steps don’t fit the music as well as they did before.
Before, the music started and Rika took a while to move and then there was that whole posing session which I found lovely and a little bit “Kostner-y”. Now, when the music starts, the program starts. So basically everything is earlier but the music is still the same? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Seriously, this was so bad. Specially because now she has to adjust to it. In the Sectionals I didn’t feel the same confidence as in the Ondrej Nepela Trophy, Rika seemed a bit tentative, probably because the whole timing of the choreography has changed. 🤦*♀️
Just awful!
Do we blame David Wilson? [emoji23]

Oh i just watched both the Ondrej Nepela and the new version and i now understand what you mean. In the first version she really hit all the moves right on with the notes of the music. It does seems a bit awkward now. Damn, how come they missed that. The posing at the beginning & end is seriously so cute :laugh: Will they tweak it more to make the music fit the moves better in the future? :think: I think i really like the SP now, i almost hated it at first but now i think it might just me being shallow and not wanting to give it a chance because i really hate the dress :laugh2:

Feel free to rant whenever you want, i love discussing every detail. Hopefully with her senior debut, she'll gain more fans and the thread will also become more alive :agree:

Maybe she just forgot the move? [emoji23] I’ve seen that happen with other skaters.
You know, about her SP, I’m worried because last season they kept changing the SP because of the jumping passes and backloading and that really doesn’t help with her consistency. I hope this is the last they tweak with her SP and that it’s enough time for her to get used to it to NHK.

I too hated the SP at first but the more I watched it the more I loved it. So just when I was really getting into it they messed up everything! grrrrr

I don’t know why I thought she looked slow? The stsq didn’t look as sharp too. But I have to say, how impressive it is to do that three jump combo right at the very end of the program, with one the most difficult transitions going into it? And that’s in a program with two 3As, one in combination. Oh, the audacity! [emoji23] LMAO

Thanks a lot for sharing the clips. She does look slower compared to Ondrej Nepela where she was a real bullet! Could it be she got worried after messing up a few jumps? She did not look satisfied in the K&C. I mean when is she ever satisfied? She's the girl who said she couldn't be satisfied with 218 (and a world record) because she was aiming for more :laugh:
 
I wonder why she made the switch? Her 3A-3T has been looking good. I know she did 3A-2T at sectionals but I think that was just because she couldn’t tag on the 3T to the first 3A because of the landing. Maybe she’s decided she’s a bit more comfortable with the 3A-2T?

For what it’s worth, I think a 3Lz-3T has more of “wow” factor that a 3Lz-2T. The 3A already has that “wow” factor, so tagging a 2T is still pretty impressive.

I predicted gold for her too but it is a lot because of wishful thinking. I hope i'm sending positive vibes out there in the universe and not jinxing her :agree:

I was thinking this would be much better. 2 3As in the long program is already a big risk, she has already achieved the amazing feat of becoming the first lady to land the 3A-3T in both junior and senior circuit, nobody will take that away from her. if this layout makes her more comfortable then i'm all for it.
