Let’s just say Disney isn’t high on my list either.... :drama:
 
I just noticed that Jason has a bad case of sunburn in his recent photos with Javi.
But hey, maybe its an equivalent of carefree fun. But please be careful next time. :pray:
 
El - you haven't missed much in Anaheim OR Disneyland. Was there last spring and it was the most frustrating, annoying experience. Disneyland itself is very nice, clean, the rides are awesome, the lines are long but you expect that, etc. etc. BUT - there were literally thousands of strollers, many people pushing them were rude and inconsiderate, and you could hardly walk from one venue to another without dodging them or getting slammed in the shins because you didn't get out of the way fast enough. WHY anyone would take an infant or a small toddler there is beyond me. We saw screaming babies, small children overtired and grouchy, and a lady in front of me in line for lunch was actually nursing her baby. I'm definitely not against children or nursing but there is a time and a place and in a food line in Disneyland is neither. I will never go back. Have heard the same lament from many people.

I'm glad to hear Tracey will be with him. Have to admit I thought Tracey might end up going to Spain with Brian for Javi's last hurrah. It's a good year for them to go to U.S. Nats since it's not that far from Toronto. I wonder if Karen will go along.

Do we think changing the patterns and steps, nothing major, means more “content” in the FP? :yay:

I can’t imagine they’re messing with one darn thing form the SP, and Rohene is having a grand time dressing up and skating with Holiday on Ice anyway;)

I don't think they'll touch one single thing in the SP. It's close to perfect and Jason has mastered it. If he's really going to attempt the 4S in the FS, they might adjust the opening moves and layout to keep his nerves from getting in the way. I would hope that there is some additional choreo in the early part of the FS. I think Tracy will be good at keeping him calm and focused. I think there will be some emotional stress for Jason going into this Nationals, but I think he is very determined and excited to show everyone how much he's accomplished in the last 7 months. I think he'll be very focused on technique. But this is his first US competition since he made the switch to TCC, and the cast of characters has changed significantly.

I'm excited to see what he accomplishes at Nationals this year.
 
I miss being able to listen to the calls afterwards too. They were so often goldmines and there was usually some good stuff that stories didn't get written about.

Anyone have a little flashback to the goldmine of adorable that was Jason and Joshua's pre-Worlds 2015 teleconferences? They were super super cute.
 
One point interesting to me....

All that time I wondered whether Brian was accredited in the US? AFAIK, Tracy is not accredited either. So all that wondering, but it just didn’t matter:biggrin:

Of course US Nats is he closest geographically to TCC of all the Nats, certainly closer than New Brunswick, so maybe Tracy is happy :)

Do you think they will drive instead of flying. I googled the times and it is about the same amount of time to drive as to fly.

Shortly after Jason arrived in Toronto, I read that Brian and Tracy were both getting US coaching credentials. So Tracy probably has them now. Brian might as well, but it wasn't an issue since Brian needs to be in Minsk with Javi (and apparently Zhenya in some capacity.) Since Tracy is Jason's primary coach, I expect that she has her accreditation now.

Well, now I had to google too, and I got roughly 240 miles?

That’s a hard one. It’s an international flight, which means getting to the airport early (Although maybe Canada international isn’t as bad as overseas international. Years since I’ve done either:) ) but there is traffic at the border crossing too?

And is it worse to fly if there’s snow, or to drive?

The important decisions must be made:biggrin:

Well for me, if there is not snow in the forecast i would drive. I like driving, so I can pack everything. :biggrin:
 
I've done Toronto - Detroit many, many times and never considered flying. Drove almost every time: once we took a train.

Some family members even drove when they didn't have a car; they rented one.

Note: When flying from Toronto to Detroit, you go through US customs and immigration in the Toronto airport and not when the plane lands. This is true for many Canada -> US flights. Eight Canadian airports have US border preclearance.
