Interesting that she took out the loop combo though- was a huge shock at GPF when she missed it in the SP. She'd done like 12 in a row in warmup and waiting to start, easy as anything. Maybe didn't want to risk the bad juju from that memory?

I love Anna, but I have to say that the GOE on her spins were a tad bit too high for the way she executed them today

She's been doing the 3Lz-3T for a while now. The loop combo has been giving her trouble all season (including JGPF), so they decided to take it out. Since then she's been a lot more consistent with the SP. I think it's a great decision. Unless you're a Sasha Trusova who lands that 3lz-3lo like 99% of the time, the risk is just not worth it points wise.

This tied with alena's SP for me. Its a shame Daniil's work doesn't translate nearly as well into FS programs.

I dont see how the 6-7 points between them can be justified by what we have seen.

I'll admit, I'm pretty biased and love Anna but looking at it without subjectivity, yes, you're right. Her jump technique isn't the best and she tends to travel on her spins. But then again, her PCS were very low so... they could have given her more PCS (deservedly) and lower GOE.

It's so unfair to girls who are not that talented in jumps, but who have good spins. They will never get +5 just because they are not so famous.
