She was getting GOE for variety/creativity/originality in spins positions. While some of Sinistyna spins looked better for example there was nothing new/unique in them.

Yes, and her axel was not very good but the GOE was higher than Yuhana’s who has an amazing 2A. But, reputation judging is the reality. And I think we can agree Anna deserves to be in first place.

I feel like if and only if she's clean for both, she has a definite chance for bronze.

It's just the requirement for the year. Last year juniors had to do a solo lutz in the short program.

It seemed weird to me at first ... but now I can see that they want all the junior competitors to develop all the jumps, not rely on one combo or whatever.

Comparing to other skaters, some of her positions in spins are clearly different, which is a definition of uniqness, you like it or not.

OMG why have I not paid attention to Yuna this season? I LOVE this music, this program, this girl and her beautiful jumps. Although I continue to be mystified by this panel's inexplicable bias against Japanese ladies 2As when they are clearly the best in the field.
