2019-20 Russian Men's figure skating

Jaw dropping performance from Egor!
Omg, if he only did the same at his jgp! The boy was on fire!!!

So if RF is sending Gumennik, Mozalev probably in the next season they will go seniors ?

They already have scores to get GP, if they choose. Gumennik for sure is moving up. Mozalev is a question mark. They also sent Kovalev to the Minsk Challenger taking place this week and Volvo Open, but he is staying juniors. Gleb L. also had Denis Ten Memorial Challenge last week and is scheduled for Tallinn Trophy but I doubt he moves up. So senior assignments doesn't necessarily mean they are moving up next season.

Let's wait until at least the end of Jr Worlds on anyone other than Gumennik.

Maybe Artur will still in Junior next season…

Maybe Artur will still in Junior next season…

Given his instability shown in competitions, perhaps it might be better for him to stay in juniors and together with his coaches try to work any issues out first?

He is younger that Petr. So, it makes sense for him to take another year to build consistency and confidence.

Artur is one of the youngest ones who competed on the JGP for Russia. He will be in Juniors for another season for sure, maybe 2....maybe 3. So far, his team has shown no interest in moving him up.

SPB's Panin Memorial Tournament

Top 3 after SP, men

1. Alexandr Samarin 97.61 (4lz step out, 4F-3T, 3A)

2. Andrey Mozalev 96.15 (4T, 3A, 3Lz-3T)

3. Andrey Zuber 86.91 (4T-3T, 4S, 3A<)

I've never seen Andrey Zuber skating this well before, he's making huge improvements.

Unfortunately he doesn't have a big reputation yet, cause i think here his score should have been closer to the other two.

OMG, are russian men landing their quads??? :hap57: Good job guys!
Mozalev is doing so great, the jumps look very secure and confident, the landings were nice, the extensions are excellent for a guy. I have a feeling he'll be senior next season.
p.s. Although I love the "Yunona and Avos" rock-opera, the song choice is questionable to me. But I hope Andrey will 'grow into' that music.

Really happy for Mozalev:yahoo:Last season,he failed to enter the JGPF because of his poor performance…maybe that was a tough season for him. This season,we can find his progress in jumps and he got two JGP gold…I'm very gald to see that.:)Hope he can learn new quads and get higher scores.By the way, will he move to senior next season? And will he go to the YOG?

Big day for Moskvina's club as their skaters won both the juniors and seniors event a Panin Memorial Tournament.

Both Samarin and Mozalev WD the free skate so Andrei Zuber won with a score of 148.33 points (235.24 total score): very nice technique on the quads, a couple of mistakes with spins and double jumps in the second half but overall it was a good outing for him.

2nd Artem Lezheev 140.75 (219.17)

3rd Leonid Sviridenko 122.87 (207.54)

I was personally expecting a lot more from Alexander Petrov: he's probably struggling with injuries or other issues but in such a weak field the podium was achievable.

In Juniors Nikolai Ugozhaev won with a score of 137.72 points (218.19): pretty rough start with 1a and a fall but then skated clean the rest of the program.

Despite insane politicking, Dima managed to get away from Skate America with a medal.

Score was a complete joke, but the performance was pretty good aside two pops.

Yeah, Aliev was shamelessly robbed both in TES and PCS - all for the sake of pushing Brown to 2nd place. When quadless skater with several pops to boot is winning over skater with 4 clean rotated landed quads in both programs, who is also have great SS and performance - there is something inherently wrong with that :scratch3:
