I don't think there is any harm in Bradie working on it, but I agree not to try in competition until if it's at least mostly consistent.

That 3A attempt was landed forwards at best, how did it look close? I think she should learn to get a better vault from the takeoff and do a big, airy 2A before trying to do 3A.

agree, this was about 1/2 rotation short. i really wonder how her 3A was doing when she was with Mishin before the virus hit...was it any closer than this?

nice bauer and 2A. i hope she is working on speed and not telegraphing so much.

It's not a Bauer directly into the 2A as suggested by the initial post, but I do appreciate the deep inside rocker and edge change to set up the axel takeoff.

I also like the difficult exit from the spin -- which is now a feature, so we should see more of this sort of thing from a number of skaters.

she is a beautiful skater with so much potential. she is truly "juniorish" in a lot of ways, but i don't see it as a detriment for her in the long-term. i think she has so many great qualities and i think she will be even more incredible in the years to come.

Is this young skater from the US? I have never seen her before.

She won the silver medal at U.S. Junior Nationals last year, even though she was not old enough for juniors internationally.

It's thrilling that I get to learn about a promising new skater every year. I'm getting older but I still get so excited.......:cheer2:

WARNING.........:eek:topic:

Does anyone remember the name of the Saxophone music in Tonya's 91/92 LP. I thought it was by Santana but I can't find ot anywhere. Thank You in advance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhGwWqRP4QI

Sound Hound says it is Gato Barbieri - Europa Caliente (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile) version of the Santana, and that seems to be correct: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIRI6CvtO6o&ab_channel=inolvidable105

Not sure this goes with a 2020-21 thread though? :) I mean, yes, you made the disclaimer, but still. But I answered, so I'm just as bad! ;)

Those were the days of programs that were a total mashup of music from different composers, artists, etc. -- they could be fun!

So with competitions being so few this year, is the US planning to do any kind of test skates or cup events like Russia is doing? I'm sure there are all kinds of logistics that would need to be worked out but in the interest of not letting the US skaters fall any farther behind, especially in terms of the juniors who need that competitive practice, I wonder if they have any plans to throw an event or two out there that the skaters can participate in, get some competitive experience for the season, test their programs, etc.

Yes, the ISP skate, for seniors 9/18-19 and 10/2-3. All by video https://public.3.basecamp.com/p/3aAsGkEK6KmcPp3i75hUQ4CJ

Not an in-person test skate but I'll take it! Honestly, with this "DIY video" format, they could hold a number of competitions between now and nationals across all of the disciplines. The cost factor is driven waaay down with nearly all of the traditional competition overhead eliminated. Hopefully this won't be the only one they do. The US can hold their own little mini-Grand Prix--3 or 4 competitions over the next several weeks. That would give the juniors and seniors the opportunity to get some feedback and stay somewhat competition ready.

Tami looked strong-with powerful Wakaba type jumps. But the videos are so far away and shot from such a bad angels it is hard to tell. Filmed on an iphone or something. It would be nice if the USFSA would allow each skater to use a professional to film the program-someone that might actually be able to get a better aspect of the jumps, elements etc. I'm hoping that the seniors invest in better videoographers. I'm not sure how these programs can be judged if you can't tell under rotations, two footed jumps etc.

I wonder why Isabeau scored so low, especially since she did 3Lz+1Eu+3F and 3F+3T in the FS. Idk how Jessica Lin won

Underrotations, edge calls, and maybe components? Hard to tell from the video but her jumps (especially the 3-3s) looked wonky.
