Maybe he got his test result too late to attend?
One can't rely on ISU of course. But if masks are not mandated by law in Sweden, this event got governmental leave with safety measures, and these must be enforced. I hope the organisers are doing all the necessary to get participants and their staff to behave.
For now I'd say that it's the best choice? I want him to do as good as possible but...I don't know. This whole event still seems super fishy to me. Am I overreacting?
He looks good (I could be biased of course, but how come he seems to get more beautiful every year?)
I am so sorry to hear he had trouble going there and had to change practice plan, but he is a very experienced skater so I want to believe he will cope with the situation well. He also said in the interview that he was not like "(good) result, result" this time, but he was more like wanting to finish this competition being all healthy and go back to Japan without any anxiety.
There is still enough time between now and the Men's SP. I'm not too worried that he skipped this practice.
I was also really pleased to see how relaxed he looked in the short clips from yesterday's practice! I think it's good that he has Brian and Tracy here with him. It must have been difficult to train alone during this whole pandemic, and with the recent earthquakes in Japan on top of it all... I mainly hope he stays safe and healthy, but I would be overjoyed to see him skate clean and win here after overcoming these challenges!
